Experienced with MXE but never tried AMT before. Is it anything like it? Thought it might be a good replacment as both are a form of dissociative.

AMT is that stuff in cough syrups right?

So what's your favourite? (and why)
 
Think it's only right to mention that DXM is the dissociative that you can find in certain cough syrups.
 
Thanks, thought it was some related form of DXM. Guess not then. Is it very psychedelic though?
 
aMT can get very, very psychedelic, even at very, very low doses. Again, don't go near this until you've done significant research. Knew a group of fairly young guys that took between 100 and 200mg of aMT, interspersed with significant doses of MXE (50mg at a time). They had a bad time. Not just because of the high doses but because of both their reckless attitude and their lack of research.

Be careful with this stuff.
 
Please do, and I echo the posts above and would like to add: researching a drug, in this case AMT, should not be done based mostly on asking questions in a thread like this but reading about it in general and reading a lot. Read experiences in our trip report section and also in the Erowid experiences section, read our mega-thread for all kinds of related topics e.g. side-effects, dangers, dosage, combining, etc etc etc.

This thread is ready for closure when you are, ninae, but before that of course have the opportunity to get back to us on this. Though for really diving into in-depth discussion I'd still like to refer you to our Big & Dandy AMT thread which is meant for that. Link is provided above by never_knows_best. And there are versions of it before our current one that are miles long. Start your digging! :D
 
Forgot to post about the outcome of this. Only tried it once because I couldn't get MXE and count it as the worst drug mistake of my life and the first thing I've ever flushed.

Taking the drug itself felt like nothing and I might as well not have bothered. But the next day I went through a depression from hell. It was like nothing I've ever experienced before, never done E or much amphetamines, and I'm suprised I survived it.

The best way I can describe it is like being crashed down to reality and all the things that have been repressed in your subconscience or you've been in denial about come to the surface. It's hard to even live with yourself after that. I just want to repress the memory I ever tried this substance.

The way you described this crash sounds more like the typical revelations one can have about themselves on psychedelics. As mentioned above, psychedelics are a very different class of drugs to dissociatives, despite them both being hallucinogens. On psychedelics that fluffy comforting blanket of warmth is not always there and there can be some harsh truths that really hit home.

It might be worth mentioning your dosage etc and asking for more explanation on why your experience went so badly in The Big & Dandy AMT Thread as it's worth getting some closure on what happened and seeing if it was unavoidable or through something you did wrong during the experience.

Since this actual thread is done now though I'll close it. So yeah, head over to the AMT thread if you want to ask more.
