Music in Movies

The peak of the Sigur Ros during the final scene, where Steve Zissou finally sees the Jaguar Shark. The music fits perfectly.

The Phillip Glass score for The Fog of War.

The first song in Donnie Darko.

The entire soundtrack for Gardern State (as a ST, not as individual songs)

The entire ST for Resovior Dogs (again, as a ST)

The entier Big lebowski ST (ditto)

The Sufjan Stevens for Little Miss Sunshie, on the very begeinning of the RoadTrip.

These peices of music (and ST) play a big role on our view of the film. Music helps shape the feel of the film. Soundtacks are a very Integral part of a film. In the first bit of I <3 Huckabees the constant speech and dialouge is our s/t. In The French Connection, the city street noise and significant lack of dialouge is our s/t...

The first song in Donnie Darko.
The Killing Moon by Echo and the Bunnymen. One of my favorites :)

Oh...and I also love it when Bryan Ferry's Slave to Love begins playing along a montage of scenes in Nine and a Half Weeks.....and I also adore that little ditty that plays in Kubricks Lolita =D na na....na na na na na na na na naaaaaaa...How did they ever....??

I love the music in 28 Days/Weeks Later - Godspeed! You Black Emperor in the first one and similar music (but not by G!YBE I think).

fuckin A! I was just bout to say how the end song of 28 Days Later, Johnny Cash's "When the Man Comes Around" makes the movie.

also, with all the talk of the Big Lebowski I'm surprised nobody has mentioned "My Condition" (I think that's what it is called, I will look up later, too tired to type ATM) when he was tripping from Treehorn's drink. I will post more later.
