yea def but I never have been to an underground rave... I got a boy in my frat when I was in college that knew all the underground rave scene in Brooklyn.

I went to the disco biscuits at times square. Nokia theatre. Closest I've been to one.
idk how people survive those lol too much drugs for me and not enough music. I always felt that the majority of people go to festivals to so drugs and not even for the music and festivities, non-drug related

I've thought similar things myself. I attend EDC, and the amount of-- well, you know. One thing I do understand is that the opportunity to step outside the boundaries/constraints of everyday life has value. If that's walking around wearing furry leg warmers and pasties while smoking a blunt, well okay. You go, dude.

A little enhancement, lubrication, whatever, I get. What I don't understand are people who spend thousands of dollars in travel, accommodations, and tickets to attend -- and then get absolutely smashed into another dimension. They could do that in their closet; they didn't need to spend that kind of money to take drugs.

Not judging, mind you. I just don't understand that last one.

yea thats what I don't get. I am all about partying but when at a music festival, im there for the music and vendor food. I eat healthy year long so vacations and festivals are my "off-days". I see it all the time they go to a festival and sit in there tent doing drugs the whole 3-4 days and down even get to the stage. I'm to busy planning what sets im going to then what drugs im taking

I know it's not a festival. But Shinedown, Three Days Grace are playing in Wilkes Barre April 10th at the Arena. I kind of want to get a sky box, or suite.

I guess I was just doing research for myself, since most of you are in another country and it doesn’t seem like there are many people here from California. Ha

Is Coachella worth it? I mean, I’d much rather do Burning Man if I was out that way…

You could ask that about any festival. For me, none of these bigger name festivals I see are worth it. Everyone likes a different atmosphere.

For me, if I have to in anyway fight through a crowd to get to a good spot listening to the system it’s a no go. If there’s too many people I also avoid it, means there’s snakes in the grass.

At a small festival, someone sells bunk they get called out on it immediately. Everyone knows everyone, it becomes a true community.

But with small festivals comes some drawbacks. I’d say you really have to be about the music. You don’t get all the visual thrills that bigger festivals have to offer. It’s just a bunch of dirty wooks throwing down to some heavy beats out in the woods. All the money goes to the state of the art sound systems.

Can’t wait though, mid May I hit my first of the year. It’s gonna be a wild one. I’m gonna be loaded with cash too so time to reup on some goodies.

I haven’t been to Coachella. I was just listing festivals coming up. I know it’s had some big name bands there over the years. More of a mainstream event. It’s gotten huge. Seems to be a big scene for a younger crowd and can get kind of rowdy.

I went to the venue for Phestival 8, 3 nights of Phish. It was pretty sweet. Great art installations and a huge Ferris wheel. Nice mellow vibe with a bunch of hippies.
Burning Man seems pretty awesome, however super extreme. You have to do a lot of planning and preparation because it’s not an established venue with facilities.

I agree. Depends on the vibe you’re into. When I was younger I was totally cool weaving my way through the masses of people. Now, not so much. I like to have plenty of space to move. I feel claustrophobic in packed crowds, so I stay on the outskirts.

So...... I loved gathering of the vibes when it was around what would you guys say is a festival thats close that kind of vibe and size that is happening this summer in that area, northeast of america
