Mushrooms after hospitalization (liver question)

Hey everyone,

Friend of mine wants to take mushrooms next weekend but she's still recovering from acute Hep B and I don't know if it's safe physically? She was in hospital with it for a month and got out about a month ago so it's probably been 9-10 weeks since she caught it. She's not allowed to drink yet for obvious reasons, but I don't know how psilocybin interacts with your liver?

I just checked online in multiple sources. Shroomery.org says that they do not cause liver damage. Not much about specifically Hep B. I did not find a source that says there is any chance of liver damage. So, it seems safe. But, as always, think about the fact that they do go through the liver, and it resembles a chemical so... All I can say.

Note: All the sources said that the poisonous mushrooms (non hallucinogenic) kill by causing liver damage, so in this case it is VERY important to make sure the shrooms are from a trusted source.
 
thanks, I had a bit of a search but couldn't find anything specifically myself. I know my mushrooms pretty well and so do the people I go picking with so there's no risk of getting the wrong muchrooms really, but will be extra careful in this case

Be extremely careful. I would make sure you know them VERY well. You do not want your friend's blood on your hands.

Further, I know very little about hepatic impairment and psilocybin.

Exactly, while it is safe, trusting your source is even more important in this situation.

Personally, I would wait for your friend to be in complete recovery before they consume any psychedelics.

And yes, I am moving this to Psychedelic Drugs, but I can't promise it will stay open as the question has more or less been answered.
