I can see where you're coming from
Farmed mussels is actually a pretty big industry. You see them on restaurant menus year round but wild mussels are seasonal.
My first head chef always told me if you want to order mussels off a restaurant menu only get them in the months ending in R because that's when they're in season.
So much for staying on topic

anyone foraged any good oyster mushrooms lately?
How you know that ? Its indeed so, they are not palatable when they mate.
So outside the season, they where probably kept frozen.
But when un-frozen the law says you may call em fresh, again.
The little babys either sink/ or glue em selves to sometyhing, or are manually placed on the right spot.
And there is the new invention, hang culture. Also 'wild' but artificially placed in a better enviroment.
They hang on things near the surface. So Hang culture are like cultivated, less sand.
More flesh earlier ready, but less taste. I was told. Still wild.
'Wild Mussel s' [as the movie] refers to young woman, as all Mussel s hang-culture or grounded are wild.
Used to be a volunteer in the local Fishermans house Museum, a while. Learned a lot.
They do catch the new borns artificially in months not ending in a R.
But as they live in a national nature reserve, that s continuesly being polluted.
And they clean water, i imagine they are loaded with PFAS, PAHs, heavy metals.
Chemour less then 50 km away, so they are basicly even unfit for consumption.
And other shit released from ammunition dumping from '45 till '69. Inlands near the dike ?
And lets not forget the "Iron Snails" [chemical waste] from Tata Steel that was dumped.
So called protection of our coast.
Who cares they dying along with the Lobster s and ..., well that other world famous shell animal.
edit=> Scale vs. Shelll Animal s, Mussel & Oyster s vs Lobster s & Shrimp,
the ones the Bible forbids to eat. Mix up of nomenclatura and lost in transllation.
No clue who is who in English.
Oyster s. Goodbye, and thanks for helping clean up our mess. Good try.
Ps Was this about Shrooms, oh yeah thats right
