Mushroom Season 2011 UK / Ireland / Anywhere else

If your looking for a more shroom-like experience, then i suggest getting some 4-AcO-DMT; great stuff :D! Havn't actually tried 4-HO-MET itself, but got some on the way

I'm not sure if I:
1. Can be arsed going picking this year, and...
2. Actually want to trip this year...

If I can be arsed to go on the massive walk, which would do me good itself, I suppose I'll just grab as many as I can and dry them out for use at a later date or give them to someone who doesn't live in such an ideal environment i.e. A city-centre.

Really enjoyed the couple of small trips I had last year though, so you never know :) Plus it was an exceptionally shit year for the little fungi angels last year, maybe it's worth going to see if this season bodes better than the last.
Though this random spat of fucking summer!! may have messed things up a bit?

We shall see...

Not libs there accidentalmonkey. Definately not. Psilocybe semilanceata has no ring, and definately does not have pale gills.

just been lookin for the last 3 hours and found 7 shitty little mushrooms... i now have 14 mushies altogether from about 11 hours of lookin... i think im going crazy over these little bastards... cant walk past some grass without craning my neck to try and find them... i wanna trip naturally for gods sake... anyone from the south of ireland with some tips for a newbie?

Haha! After picking, and walking back down on tarmac, my eyes will still be planted on the floor 8)

this is my first season going picking... yeah i was almost looking in potted plants out my back for em... have some lovely smoke tucked away with a few bottles of wine for tonight and a few shroomies would go down well with them... i brewed 7 of them in a pot of tea last weekend... and i felt a little stoned (thats the closest description i can give)... was this a placebo effect??? or would it actually change your perception? (obviously not by much)

I really want to go picking this year but have no real clue where to go, I wish there was a website with a map of fields that grow mushrooms, lol.

I hear sheep fields are the best, is this true? Also, is there any preferable terrain that I would be more likely to find them on. Hilly fields or flat fields? near trees or far from trees?

Sorry for the basic questions, I'm a bit of a noob 8)

Just get out in any luscious sheep/cow fields anywhere where you live and sweep the field a few times before moving onto another. If that type of field doesn't work, just find another. The only hard and fast rule is that they grow in grass, and some have them, while some don't. Just get out there.

Does the grass have to be quite short, or can they hide in the long grass?

It depends what you mean by short and long! Generally the grass in farmers fields is never going be longer than a certain length (3,4,5 inches or something?), due to the way that they are managed (i.e constant rotation of the livestock between different fields to make it economically viable). These are the best fields.

I've also found them growing in the type of public access field which are managed by the council, the type which have been recently cut making the grass very short, but only ever in a small abundance. They are generally less prevalent in these types of fields in my experience.

And then you get that kind of foot+ long grass, which you used to play in when you were a kid. I couldn't imagine them growing in there really, and if so, good look finding them.

To summarise, my answer is the same as above - get yourself down to any local sheep/cow fields. The mushrooms only grow to about a couple of inches tall, max, so you need to be able to actually see them sticking their heads out.

Thanks for taking the time to type that out - it should save some pointless hours - was walking the dogs in some fields earlier, but they were fields where there are never any livestock - grass was over a foot high, so I reckon best looking somewhere else now..

how soon after a heavy rainfall do yous guys think that mushrooms will sprout up? it been raining the last 2 so i hope if i go tomorrowi can find more.

Although not Liberty Caps, anyone tried B+ Cubensis? Recently got to try these and loved them so I'm thinking of getting a few more! Found them really nice and smooth, although would like to dose a lot higher. I found it took a few extra grams to get to the point where I'd like to be but they were still great with Lemon Tek and tea! Anyone else got another favourite strain apart from Liberty Caps?
