pic from today :)

taken from Adelaide hills region yo. :)

^^ good stuff headdah

You should try getting down and taking some pics at ground level, shooting across the patch. You may be surprised with the quality of the shots at this angle.

Keep up the good work and enjoy those suckers

^I tend to find that when I redose, it results in a kind of 'paralysis' on my body.
Have trouble moving my limbs and talking properly, not to sure why this happens, but bear in mind, psilocybin is a poison of sorts afterall, so im guessing this has something to do with it?

I find psilocybin mushrooms give a heavy body load whether you re-dose or not.

Re-dosing isn't as much of a problem with mushrooms as it is with say LSD, where if you take more after the first dose, it's effects are diminished significantly and it is pretty much a waste that only prolongs the trip.

I have even re-dosed while coming down from mushrooms and been thrown straight back into a deep tryptamine state.

It is for this reason that I recommend starting low and working your way up if you aren't experienced with this substance, as re-dosing is a non issue and you can always have more.

I agree,
when I have re-dosed with mushrooms it tends to lift the trip right back up.
I have felt some what paralysed from doing this, but I think thats more from the cones I was doing at the same time.

Re-dosing I have made mushroom trips last for quite a long time, and when you start to clear up you can just eat another one and keep it going.

I'm all for re-dosing on shrooms =D

yeah next time i go out i'll try and get some ground level pics happening. I wasn't too impressed with how these pictures turned out but I only looked thru them when I got home so couldn't take more. These suckers are currently drying in my room atm ;D Will be having em this weekend with my mates :D

I know the feeling headdah, I started out shooting mushrooms from A looking down perspective and was usually disappointed when I got home, but since moving on to ground level shots I have captured many wonderful pictures in recent years.

I look forward to your next round of pics

Adelaide is cranking from all the reports I have received.

If you are in Vic and can get down to the SW of the state, you will still have some great finds. The temps are A few degree's above those of central Vic (roughly 5-14deg C) and they are perfect conditions for pin formation and fast grow rates :)

There are still small finds to be had in Central Vic, but the big patches of last month wont be seen again until next season.

yeah i'll defn do a lot more ground level pics next time we go out and hunt :)

Quick question Psilo, when does the SA season usually end?

It's all up to the weather god's my man. I have found them in SW Vic and SA in September in decent amounts during some seasons. Every year is different due to weather patterns and the movement of water currents.

I'm going to touch on the science behind this as it may help some Vic hunters to understand why the season starts later and ends later as you head west across the continent.

The warm water currents coming through the bight keep the coastal SA night time temps above those of Melb, this is also the case for SW Vic as Tasmania was not joined to it by land and the continental shelf where these currents flow is close to the land in SW Vic. As for Melb and all of central Vic, the shallow water between there and Tasmania stops a large % of these currents so they mostly go down and around Tasmania in the deeper water off the continental shelf. From memory the water depth between Melb and Tas is 300m max and the depth off the shelf is up to a few km...

The ocean is responsible for warmer night temps along the coast and this is canceled out to an extent in central Vic. The recent low night temps in Melb have brought an early end to the peak of the season.

Bit of useless info from a nature lover right there ^^ :)

Long story short, you will usually still have finds into August in SA and maybe September if you are lucky. So your season starts later, but is still the same length as the season in the rest of southern Aus.

Hope that makes sense

What are peoples opinions on re-dosing?

I have to disagree with a few comments above me unfortunately. Redosing shrooms is kinda wasting. Tolerance builds up rapidly just like some other psychedelics. When redosing it wont enhance the visual aspects but will increase the bodyload slightly. If u are doing them then calculate ur dosage after u have an idea how strong they are and do it at once.

so another month or so for SA. thats great news Psilo. and man ur reply to this thread is like almost instant. u must check this thread like on an hourly basis :)

There is some loss of potency due to tolerance, but it's certainly nowhere near that of LSD or phenethylamines.

Would be more noticeable with weaker mushrooms such as P. Cubensis, but with P. Subaeruginosa it is hardly noticeable and re-dosing dramatically increases the intensity of the trip, both mentally and physically.

Yes, another month of hunting goodness for you guys.

My replies are quick when I'm around studying or writing, but I'm not always home to reply so hastily, especially when I'm out hunting myself or doing a bio assaying of such compounds ;)

I have been checking my patch every few days and it's nothing like when I first found it 2 weeks ago. A few here and there but nothing substantial.

I also went hunting with my girlfriend today at some new patches and found a mushroom very similar to P. Subaeruginosa, however, it was a lot dryer, browner and flatter ( found in very small wood chipped park areas, not very damp - should have taken shots of the area :/ ). I haven't been home yet to take some snaps but i'll get them ID'd on shroomery. I have a feeling though from my research they could be P Cubensis? They do seem to have a blue stained stem but it's definitely not as much as the p subaeruginosas.. they also seem to be slightly blue in places on the cap.

As for re-dosing, i ended up doing it that night ( =p ) and ingested another gram with yoghurt (on top of my previous 1g in tea), and it definitely came on straight away, felt that 'mushy come up' (however you would describe that). During the night I had closed eye visuals, nothing hectic, just listened to the new gui boratto cd while pondering my life. I did start off by watching the first 2 episodes of breaking bad and it started sending me into a bad place, i saved the night thankfully. ;D

Hey Psilo - I've noticed at my first patch the mushrooms seem to only get to a certain age(?) and then start rotting, is this because it's too cold overnight? frost etc?

Peace peeps

;D!

I can say for certain that this mushroom is not P. Cubensis, that species is a warm climate mushroom that grows during the rainy season in nth NSW and Qld. It's more than likely a weird looking P. Subaeruginosa (their appearance changes dramatically from patch to patch) or not an active species at all.

The more you hunt in different area's/substrates, the more you will notice the many different shapes and sizes that P. Subaeruginosa will take on.

The stems also don't always go noticeably blue, but if you are a beginner I'd recommend sticking to what you.

It could be the frost as frost damage is very common at this time of the season in Melbourne. It could also be other variables. Some substrates, especially in garden beds, seem to produce small mushrooms that die off at an early age no matter what the weather conditions are.

I know of a couple of garden beds where the mushrooms only ever get to a couple of cm high and start to rot once the cap reaches about 25mm in diameter or even less. There are garden beds within this same park that produce monsters...

There is still finds to be had in WA if there are decent rains. The season starts very late there and also finishes later than in the east.

I know for a fact that SA is going off and highly doubt that the season has ended in WA. They may not be as prolific as they were in June, but they'd still be around.

They're still up in Vic in small amounts and our season ends before yours :)

Um got back from B-town tonight with a decent stash. Id say the season is just about too peak, im no expert though this was my first decent find..

Hey guys it has been raining in w.a for 3 days now
And as said in previous post I do not
Plan on going down to baligyup to find nothing nor to be busted by the cops. I was just wondering if you guys think I'll have any luck finding them in Perth up in the hills area ( I think it's classed under the metro area) I kno of a couple places that have the right landscape for them to grow but just wondering if the hills is a dud area.

Cheers ^.^

I also find mushrooms quite effective when redosed, I have read acid isn't good for this but I have only ever dosed up once the times I took it so I wouldn't know. Tolerance also seems to build less quickly to mushrooms, but you still can get a hell of a tolerance pretty quickly.

I tend to think it is unwise to redose psychedelics unless you took a conservative dose first to test the waters before taking a booster dose. They have a reasonable duration which, more often than not, already feels much longer than it actually is.

IMHO keeping your trips short and sweet is the way to do it, the longer you are tripping the more chance there is for something to go wrong, especially when you consider likely sleep deprivation issues by the time a second or third dose is wearing off.

Treat mushrooms (all psychedelics for that matter) with the utmost respect, or they will bitch fuck you like nothing else.
