If we can get them round kuringai, or berowra or Galston across the ferry, i'll be on scout soon, and i might knock a few doors and get permision to check the cow piles out. Will post if i find anything. Peace.
Im in that area if you come across anything let me know:)

hey verybuffed i highly doubt you would be finding cubes down our area especially seeing a couple of mornings ago we had a bit of frost ( i live in the same postcode :P) but if you did that would be pretty awesome.

I've never heard of any cubensis growing in Canberra only p. subaeruginosa and p. australiana, but then again im not very experienced on the matter so you never know.

Like I said, I bought a bag of mulch for my garden from the large hardware chain. The bag had been rained on for a few days and had somehow created the perfect growing environment for shrooms. I took the photo before I spread the mulch on my garden.

I found 11 subs while on a morning run today :)

West of Melbourne between Ballarat and Geelong

They were a bit old and some were starting to rot, I estimate they came up 10-14 days ago

I found them growing out of pine needles and cones within a 50cm radius. Further hunting within 500m turned up nothing but a few non actives.

An unexpected and interesting find

Under pines near a small stream at an elevation of 397m

not from my experience mate. thats not a definitive answer though. as i have never actually looked for the woood lovers up there.
it is possible to find paenouleous cyanescens in the autumn tho if you know where to look.
i have found these and other actives in the cooler months when all my friends said the season was over. but they were only thinking cubensis. these cyans were great mushrooms, and i think were as good as the subs, or the psilocybe cyanescens.
i have also found what looked like cubensis well into the cooler months in the newy area too. when conventional wisdom says not.
the wood lovers all like the temperature to get down to 15 and below. 15 tops really. as you know, newcastle wont get that low in the night in the middle of winter, so you would be pushin it. however, away from the coasts, up the valley or towards the watty's can get that cold at night no worries. so i guess its possible.
i only started to pick woodlovers once i moved to katoomba, where they are plentifull if you know where to look, or know how to grow them outdoors.

Please keep questions & responses out of this thread in regards to specific areas where mushrooms can be found. Sourcing is sourcing, whether we're talking mushrooms or mull.

I had a drea last night that I went around my suburb finding mushrooms EVERYWHERE. I kept eating them all but nothing was happening. I was so sad when I woke up. :(

I've never gone mushroom gathering before, hopefully this will be my first year. None of my mates have gone or know any spots so this year will most likely just be intel gathering and next year we'll hit the park lands!

In my dream that is...

What city you from? If you're in melb just check out parks and stuff should be a good guess, If you're not sure what exactly you're looking for post them on www.shroomery.org they will identify them for you.

And good luck =D

Good luck internettoughguy

Please dose low, in a very comfortable environment and with as few people as possible for starters

0.7-1g of subs can be enough for beginners

They do vary up to 4 times in potency so you may need more but better off safe than INSANE :)
