So I've been saving 1.6g if mushrooms since mid winter in the garage where it's really cold in a plastic bag (yes I know I should have also put it in a glass container). Now that it got warm out I go to check up on them (It's been warm out for only a few weeks now). I scaled it out and it says 1.8 now and they became a bit soft. Now I do not see any mold on them or anything. I would imagine they have lost a bit of potency but if they got a bit moist (bendy not crisp anymore) would they still be ok? would it be a good idea to make them crisp dry again and how would I go about doing that?

Use a desiccant! Go out to some kind of hardware store and buy Drierite or something like that. Either that or go look for a material that serves to absorb moisture.

If you got it, get something of appropriate size that is airtight and put both the mushrooms and the drying material (=desiccant) in there, but do not let them touch each other directly. If you keep them preserved in that space for a couple of days the desiccant will attract every last bit of water from the mushrooms.

But if you got it since mid-winter I would seriously reconsider eating those because they can be spoiled in multiple ways. Do some research on that by checking this particular subthread, and if you still don't get it ask around there!

I am sure that just 3 weeks ago when the snow melted I ate a little bit and they where just fine. But they pretty dry at the time.
