mushroom popularity

I'm from Oregon, and I don't know if any of you guys have been there, but when you reach the town of Eugene, you've pretty much entered "mushroom terriotry". Not only do psilocybes grow wild there (of every variety), but Eugene is home to the largest network of amateur mycologists in the United States. There was even a huge bust there 2 years ago, but trust me, it's still strong.

Now, in California, it is a different story all together. I haven't met a single person here that has used real mushroooms, and as far as I can see there just isn't any mushrooms here. Thank God for spores, that is all I can say.

As in "real" do you mean wild-picked and fresh or what?

I've been using mushrooms since I was quite young and if they haven't been locally homegrown I gather they're usually shipped from Oregon, down through Humboldt and Arcata, etc.

I read that some ignorant college kids were picking shrooms and ended up eating death caps, just last weekend. Sad.

That is why people need to go out and read a little something called a guide. Like this one, which is my all time favorite mushroom guide.

They're semi popular around here.

As in, you walk into town and you can buy shrooms legally from shops. And they're always, always available. And people always seem to be buying them from those shops. But in my circle, noone uses them. Its either weed or pills, for the most part.

there is a huge demand for mushrooms in most colleges and high schools across the country.

if you have them, you only need to tell a couple customers before all their friends are calling you up

I live like 60 miles west of Eugene. I live right smack dab in the middle of mushroom land. Five-ten minutes of walking will produce about 6 dry grams of cyanesans in patch spots.

No doubt. I'm from Portland OR, in Richmond VA right now, and the demand for mushrooms is outrageous. Suprised me.

I've moved a bunch of times in the last few months, living on both sides of Canada. They've been popular everywhere I've been.

Here where I live (southeastern US), shrooms are somewhat popular. At my high school, they are more popular with the crowd of drug users who like punk rock. I never have seen one person get busted with shrooms though.

But shrooms are still a pretty big drug in my area. A lot of people here are afraid of them because my area is just now developing to be an active drug community. But it seems like every few weeks I'll have a phone call from someone saying they have shrooms for sale.
