From some reason and I'm curious as to why whenever I take Magic Mushrooms I always get these very detailed memories of stuff I did as a child like i can see my childhood happen before my eyes, and another thing happens, Its like I can "sift" through my past dreams, like I can remember all of them and choose which ones I want to I dont know how to explain it but its like i watch them even though my eyes are open, and whenever this happens I kinda become saddened because I miss my childhood so much. Does anybody know what this is from? Because it only starting happening recently like the past to times ive used mushrooms. Sorry if this makes no sense at all.

This is why I love mushrooms when Im alone :) - It's like your able to look through your 'back catalogue' of memories (some of which you forgot years ago) and relive / rethink / reexperience them all over again.

Have you ever tried looking at an old photo album (haha Im showing my age) when your in that state - it can really conjure up some unexpected feelings!

While tripping with my friend on some shrooms we took a walk around the block from our houses. As we walkd past a patch of woods, my friend (who is tripping as well) started telling me how memories from this area just started flooding his mind from when he was a little kid. I don't think I have ever had this effect from shrooms, but my friend sure did that night.

When I was 23 years old I tripped with a lifelong buddy on some (sanitized closet) grown liberty cap. After the first 50 minutes, just as I was starting to peak I spent about 20 minutes being 5 years old for 20 minutes (if that makes any sense)

Because mushrooms are amazing. Actually I tend to experience childhood memories more with marijuana than with mushrooms but like someone else said I think these drugs give us more access to the content of our brains. I also feel like they put is a more childlike state of consciousness, which may be one of the reasons we think of our childhood memories.

i agree with this. i always feel a bit childish on mushies, and in the best possible sense.
i also get to feel the innocence and the pure emotions i used to have, before everything turned adult on me :P

Sorry for going off-topic, but you've grown liberty caps? I thought they were supposedly really hard to grow?

Oh my god. Or going places you have been when you were a child. I remember this feeling is awesome. It's like you have access to your childhood emotions. Can be scary, but for the most part it's cool.

"Memories come to life" is an effect listed on Erowid.

Mushrooms are awesome.

good idea

yeah psychedelics can surface memories of the past

i use to like walking around the city on LSD, and because i've lived here the large majority of my life, i can remember different times from the past and reflect on them

and then continue wondering and memories pop up everywhere, it's quite insightful
