I decided to start researching what sorts of psychoactive mushrooms could be found growing in the San Francisco Bay Area, and was pleasantly surprised to find how many different species grew around here. I know what they look like and when to look for them, but exactly where I should go is an issue. I live in the city and use public transportation to get everywhere, should I be checking in the park, on people's lawns, or get out of the city and into the wilderness? Additionally, is it possible to use spore prints from wild mushrooms to grow my own?

I would go into the woods. You'll find more mushrooms in places where people don't go.

It is very possible to use wild prints to grow mushrooms, but if you have to ask that question, then you most likely don't have the skill to clean it up properly. It takes a few agar transfers, usually. Your best bet would be to try to clone a piece of the inner tissue of the stem into a LC or onto cardboard, then use that to 'noc up some spawn.

^what he said. I would recommend getting a spore print of any cubensis and practicing cultivating a bit first.

^ye i agree.

For the sake of £15 you can get a spore syringe which in effect could last you a lifetime of tripping

Yar, try growing with spores from a supplier first. I'm sure you know that mushroom unting can be rather dangerous seein as their is lots of poisonous mushrooms that grow in the wild and don't look all that dissimilar from the psilocybin containing variety.

That said, we don't allow mushroom hunting or ID threads here. For that kind of info along with the ultimate source for cultivation info; The Shroomery is the place to be.

Closed. :)
