Nootropics Mushroom Gummies

Mushroom chocolates and gummies same effect. In 4000mg doses.

The police dont ask you what an unknown substance is at the point they arrest you - why bother? Its like asking a drunk driver how many pints he's had. They send it to be tested. It was dried mushroom in capsules. They just guessed £18 because they had never seen dried mushroom being sold before. They spent 6 months sending it to a lab to test and find out what it was - so clearly theres absolutely no shortage of money. Why not take it to court? Certainly looks better for them than a formal caution does.

Ah, OK, that make more sense. Your opening statement was simply that a friend was arrested for possession of mushrooms. So forgive me for assuming you meant magic mushrooms, not a capsule containing unidentified dried mushrooms.

I'm still wondering why anyone would presume the capsule contained a controlled compound. Holland and Barrett sell hundreds of different herbal capsules so why would there be suspicion of it being something controlled?

No, these compounds are unlikely to be made by exploitation of biosynthetic pathways a la Gartz, which is known to be somewhat finnicky. Full synthesis and into the chocolate it goes.
As neat as the Gartz study was, I've seen two attempts to recreate the results and both failed iirc, though there was a study indicating that tryptophan can increase psilocin (or was it psilocybin?) production in the fruits. Most of the increase production ended up occurring in the mycelium and not the fruits though, so I suppose it would have been most effective for somebody extracting from mycelium as well as fruits like John F. Casale did.
