mushroom growing?

going to have a shot at growing some... bearing in mind i couldnt even grow watercress at school! all i ever hear is people saying their grow didnt work, or went mouldy etc, please give me some confidence it is possible! are any strains easier than others? did you use a 'kit' or go it loneranger with sterilizing the stuff yourself and things?
 
If you're a complete noob, I'd maybe start out with a growkit or bag or whatever the fuck they're called.

But honestly, growing mushrooms is REALLY easy and you have to be almost trying to end up with mold etc. As long as you can properly sterilize shit and follow the general procedure, it's REALLY easy. You don't need a makeshift flow-hood or anything like that, but things of that nature certainly aren't useless.

It's a bit of a different story when it comes to cobweb mold on the fruiting bodies, but that can be fixed whereas mold in the mycellium fucks your entire grow over. Cobweb mold just means too much humidity... Mold in your mycellium will make your mushrooms possibly hazardous to eat. I recommend going to the shroomery and checking out their grow-teks and reading up, as they have really great info and it's where I learned how to grow.

Amazonian psilocybin cubensis is the least worrysome of fucking it up. You can usually find it online under "Type A" - every place has it. It's not extremely potent but it is good, fruits good, and is easy to grow.

I've had many friends that grow it and I'm looking to buy my first kit soon (I keep saying it tho and not doing it...) and theirs all came out perfect. I would suggest you read up on how to do it (and don't ask how to do it here) since blue light doesn't give tips/help on cultivation/manufacturing...
 
PF Tek is really easy - with little attention to contamination I get a success rate of about 90-100%

BUT, you need good spore syringes - without those you are pissing in the wind and will spend your life fucking around thinking you've "contaminated" things when it was just a shitty spore syringe.

ok iv just bought 2x sterilized growing tubs with substrate in.. so now i just need the spores... silly question but will one syringe only do one grow? or could i use it in both tubs?
or can i put it all into one, when that grows transfer the mushroom thingy over to the new pot?
 
One Syringe will be enough for about 4 separate grows im just about to start a grow log on shroomery.org so il link you up with that when i get it sorted :) happy shrooming.
Also when you buy the spore look out for amazonian's very easy to grow ideal for your first time.

also is it possible to grow lib caps? or fly agaric?

Can't grow liberty caps and you don't really want to grow fly agaric do you? They arn't psilocybin.
 
to be honest i would like to try and grow a fly agaric sometime, i once saw a pic of someone with one in a jam jar and this gorgeous red cap sticking out the top! i used to really like fly agarics i used them before psilocyblin mushies.
shame lib caps cant be grown but i guess it wouldnt be practical?
 
Depending on the size of the syringe, you should be able to get at least 2 pf-tek jars from it, which is more than enough to have fun and share with your friends.

After your first flush, I'd recommend making a spore print and then making your own spore syringes. %)

After the first successful flush you should be nicely rolling along, self-sustained. Work on your technique and sterility with cubensis (substrain really doesn't matter though people will nitpick), and then once you get comfortable maybe try and tackle some woodlovers.
