Mushroom body load

Is it from psilocybin or other non-psychoactive toxins in mushrooms?
Also, what's the consensus on the body load? Do some of you enjoy the intense, sometimes uncomfortable body high? Is there anyway to reduce it?
Personally, I find the body load together with nausea a bit much, and will always go for a psychedelic other than mushrooms. Personally I love LSD for this very reason - there are no negatives other than some trouble sleeping but that's sort of the same for all psychs.
Not to say I don't like shrooms, there are just negatives of the trip that don't exist with other psychs.

I personally have no idea what people are talking about when they feel they have a bodyload from mushrooms. It's unbelievably euphoric for me and I do not feel sick at all. Try grinding the mushrooms into a powder and taking them in a pill or making a tea or coldwater extraction.

Never really noticed any bodyload from mushrooms - try taking them dried and capsuled to prevent having to drink/eat them and make sure you lay down for the first couple of hours to minimise motion sickness.

I always get a very uncomfortable "body load" on mushrooms, my body feels extremely restless and uncomfortable, almost like I should be doing something but dont know what it is (kind of like when you walk into a room for something, and forget why you walked in, only physically, if that makes any sense at all) - ive tried many of the usual remedies (going outside, trying to occupy yourself with something, etc.) and NOTHING shakes it for me. I dont do mushrooms anymore for this specific reason. The body load gets so intense and uncomfortable to me, I cant enjoy myself and just end up waiting for the trip to be over. It happens to me even with dried/powdered mushrooms. They just dont agree with me =/ - unfortunate too, because I have had some fantastic times on them, but that body load is always there, and more often than not it hinders me from really enjoying the experience.

Okay, we're on the same page lol. You couldn't have described the feeling better. My friend described it as a 5 hour bad orgasm if that makes sense. Have you tried tea? My first trip was tea and I was actually fine, I may just do that from now on. I'll go back to the tea for a bit and see how that works, I'd hate to leave a substance that's helped me out so much in so many ways..

E; I'll try capsules too.

I've only experienced that from eating them whole. Never when ground to powder and drank like tea.

Perhaps hot water deactivates the impurities? I've never recognized any diminished potency from psilocybin degradation due to temperature.

my last trip before I stopped doing them was tea actually, 2.5 grams I think, and it was the same shit, 3 hours of extreme discomfort and the feeling of body just not being able to get comfortable no matter what I did, the afterglow on that particular trip was amazing, but I think its because I was just so relieved it was coming to an end and that the unpleasant body sensation was easing up.

Apparently, it is the chitin in the mushroom that causes nausea. Extract the magic into tea and strain out the goo.

I think it's the psilocybin that causes nausea, if you're prone to nausea from psilocybin that is.

Just lay down for the first couple of hours and take them capsuled so you havn't any nasty taste lingering in your mouth.

Some contradictory data here?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psilocybin#Physical_effects

"Common responses include: pupil dilation (93%); changes in heart rate (100%), including increases (56%), decreases (13%), and variable responses (31%); changes in blood pressure (84%), including hypotension (34%), hypertension (28%), and general instability (22%); changes in stretch reflex (86%), including increases (80%) and decreases (6%); nausea (44%); tremor (25%); and dysmetria (16%) (inability to properly direct or limit motions)."

" A 2005 magazine survey of club goers in the UK found that nausea or vomiting was experienced by over a quarter of those who had used hallucinogenic mushrooms in the last year, although this effect is caused by the mushroom rather than psilocybin itself."

EDIT: Those smilies are supposed to be percentage signs!

they say over a 1/4 - that could easily be 44% since its over a 1/4. ;)

im just playin with ya, yeah thats kind of strange - but im also wondering if those percentages come from a mushroom study rather than pure psilocybin, and that alot of the test group maybe got nausea - best I can figure. otherwise you're right, definitely a bit off.

edit: it appears that it was indeed straight psilocybin.. well, thats wikipedia for ya lol

look into lemon essential oil, beta-pinene and 5ht2c antagonism for relief of seretogenic nausea.

IME it works wonders! Also just working with your thoughts at the time. Understand if the nausea is physical or if its perhaps caused by spiritual/emotional/existential knots.
Hope this helps. The mushrooms are wonderful teachers.

I think it's likely a combination of the active chemicals, your individual reaction to them, and the act of consuming all the mushroom matter - which might upset a few stomachs here and there.

I find 4-AcO-DMT and Psilocin (4-HO-DMT) also have bodyload often, with Psilocin's being much more noticeable, but it's manageable as long as you have a strong stomach. :)

i find to make a ginger and lemon mushroom tea does well for those who have trouble with the nausia it also depends on what mushrooms you are consuming from my experiance . i have had the worse nausia from magic truffle mainly pholisiphers stones when fresh but not when dryed and powdered . never had problems with golden teachers very smooth and colourful find mexican + and libertys a little more intense rearly get nausia .
it may be your taking the wrong mushroom for you OZA

peace and lovelyness %)

The body load is not from toxins. If you're taking mushrooms that have toxins in them then you're not taking psychedelic mushrooms.

I've had body load on what for me were high doses of psychedelic mushrooms. It was sort of like if you have ever eaten a high dose of herb or a few grams of herb and you get very stoned and you find it literally impossible or extremely difficult to move. I remember the first time I took mushrooms I was in my friend's basement and he also was tripping on them with me and it was morning and we wanted to open up some curtains in his basement and if we had been sober or stoned/drunk it would have been easy to just get up off the floor and open them up. It took us 35-40 minutes to get up and walk over to the curtains and open them up.

On lower doses of mushrooms I got some body load but it was not like it is on high doses. On the lower doses I remember running around in a nearby field with a glowsick, and a friend who was also on mushrooms and it was a lot easier to move around than it was on high doses.

I never had nausea on mushrooms but I would fast before eating them and eating food for 3 hours before eating them, and I would not eat heavy meals while on them just maybe some fruit but I'd mainly drink water.

I believe it's just hit or miss. I personally like the feeling, but I've seen not everyone is the same. I love how 2C-E feels on my body, some can't stand it.

Maybe try a little bit of weed to translate the bodyload into a body high?

Body load is the main reason that psilocybin mushrooms are lower on my list of favorite psychedelics. It can cause a negative emotional state during onset. Try a bit of hot pepper of ginger 20 minutes before dosing.

If by bodyload you mean gut rot or uncomfortable nausea, then I hate it.
But if you mean the strength of the body high then I love it, especially mushrooms tend to have a powerful body high.
