My friend has 25 plastic caps full of ground Mushies, sitting in a little tied up plastic bag, which in turn is stuffed into an old Berocca container. This container is sitting in a cupboard. How lond d'ya reckon it'd keep it's potency? I think it's been sitting in there for about 3-4 weeks or so already...
As usual, all help will be appreciated, but not glorified.
Have a nice day

Wrap in aluminium foil (keep out light).
Put in a plastic baggy (keeps out oxygen).
Keep in freezer (slow chemical reactions).
My experience was no loss of potency over two years for dried mushrooms stored in this fashion.

I've had dried mushrooms stored over a year in a tupperware container in my closet. Those bastards were just as strong as they were when I first picked them.
The rules with storage are to get them bone dry, and store them in an airtight container with a silica jel pack. You could also use dessicant, but be carefull with that, since if that stuff touches your shrooms you'll have to throw them out.
I personally don't like freezing, it seems exessive when normal storing will ensure they will keep for at least a year.

They would have done much better if you had not ground them.
They will slowly degrade to half strength but won't loose more potency than that for years unless exposed to high heat.

I'm curious to hear why you think grounding dry mushrooms up will make the lose potency over them not being grounded up.
Bone dry mushrooms don't lose much potency if stored properly, either grounded up or in their original form..
