If you have a huge tollerance to opiates say 300mg opiate(codiene, oxy, etccc,,,) chewed all at once, what would be a dose taken intramuscular to get the same effect? I know this stuff isn't meant to be iv'd but what about in the muscle???
thanx.........also if 8mg hydromorph. iv'd is good how much would a patient need intramuscular...thanks again..

With the hydromorph, IV and IM doses will be the same -- you just won't get the rush IM, and it'll take longer to come up.
I would recommend more against IM'ing codeine/oxy than against IV'ing it. It's a lot easier to get abscesses, etc. when shooting into a muscle. Plus codeine and oxy are only about twice as strong IM or IV than eaten -- you don't gain that much.
