muscle relaxer + opiate? (hydrocodone + baclofen)

My friend gave me some pills and I'm considering taking them tonight. I've had a muscle relaxer a few times before, but I don't know which kind. All they did was really make me fall asleep. He also gave me a 5/500mg hydrocodone.

The muscle relaxer is a 10mg baclofen. I was thinking I'd take it alone, but wanted to ask what it would do. Would it just make me tired, or is it different than other relaxers? Hell will I even feel anything? And I know the 5mg hydro isn't much, but would it be a good idea to take it with the relaxer? I have experience with opiats, but only a little. It's been months since I've taken any so I have 0 tolerance, and I would probably get a small buzz from the 5mg since I always seemed somewhat sensitive to them in the past.

I'm also considering not doing the 5/500mg hydro and drinking a little alcohol instead to help me sleep (just one beer, it's all I got haha). Would that be safe with the baclofen?

Any combinations with these drugs that I should avoid, and is there anything I should expect from them in terms of effects aside from just falling asleep? I have a hard time sleeping so I wouldn't mind being knocked out haha

I would recommend not mixing alcohol with any prescription drugs as their effects on your respiratory system can be quite depressed. With that being said both of the pills you have are quite low dosage. I would say you'd be fine to take both, even with a low tolerance. You'll probably get a relaxed feeling but unlikely any pronounced euphoric effects.

Yeah, it seems everything is a no-go with alcohol. I'd heard about people using baclofen with alcohol and coming out okay so I wasn't sure about the interaction. My friend has mixed relaxers and alcohol a handful of times and has had some significant effects though (though he took a decent relaxer dose a drank a lot), so I've been curious about the two. A lot of falling down and blacking out memory. Throwing up seemed a common thing too haha. It almost seemed like they were on a mix of alcohol and xanax from the way they were acting/falling around. Perhaps next time I'll mention he should watch dosing a little differently?

I have a bit of a mental stigma towards opiates for some reason. I'll do them, but just something about them personally doesn't sit right with me. I guess it's the addictive nature and the fact I've had some very close friends have big problems with them (best friend is in rehab for them right now, and I just caught word of it :o. A person I went to school with died of an opiate overdose last week too. Fuck). I'll probably take the 10mg of baclofen and wait 30 minutes before taking the 5 hydrocodone. I know it's a very low dose of a very weak opiate, but eh, it's just for sake of mind.

As Hybris has mentioned, adding alcohol to that mixture is when things get dangerous. In my opinion (and experiences - this is coming from somebody who loves alcohol...and loves opiates)..mixing more than one standard drink with your opiate dose will ruin the opiate high anyway.

I'm going to edit the title of this thread for easier searching in the future. OP, PM me if you have any questions or issues regarding this.
