Muscle building via flexing

it's the same as lifting. you force your muscle to try and move a weight.

however instead you are pushing against your other arm (or a wall, which means you are fighting against your legs).

you just balance out the effort. i don't see why it's so hard to understand.

charles atlas pioneered the isometric exercise concept. he was most famous for having those ads in comics and magazines, the little black and white ads with a muscle man.. i think he also did the ones where a guy has a bully kick sand in his face, etc... heheh

in any case, yes it works, believe it or not.

You're all morons. Although i'm quite interested in seeing what JudgeFishy looks like, if it is indeed him.

here is the way we learned how to do it with the military

When you're doing a pushup.....you go down until you're maybe 3-4 inches off the ground, and you hold it for as long as you can. It works.

With situps you do the same thing, you straighten your back, and hot it maybe 6 inches off the ground....you'll feel it.

But as P-mo said, you're going to gain more size and strength in the gym lifting 3 sets of 6.

These exercises are mainly for increasing stabilizer muscles, they help with your ability to hold something for a long period of time...."endurance muscle" I guess.

this is an absolutely retarded thread, stretching and flexing will not make you buff. end of story. anyone who says otherwise, is 110% guarantee liers... thats like somone coming on here claiming they are jeesus, anyone whod beleive them should be shot on the spot for being so dense in the head.

Flexing will help pumps, and stretching may allow more muscle to grow in a given area by stretching the muscle fibers out better, but no fucking way in hell will it build any muscle. If it was as simple as that, I can guarantee a troll like yourself would not be the first person to discover it.

Your attempt to spread misinformation has worked.

well......When I am lifting, I keep lifting until I can no longer perform a full rep and after that I hold a partial rep for as long as I can.

It does seem to help me with my ability to lift and hold something for a longer time.

I've been trying this out and noticed some muscle gain and moderate definition increase. However, I just started doing push ups again and have been getting better results.

IMO, this works ok..its definately better than doing nothing.
If you really want to get stronger, you have to push weight.
