MS Contin (Morphine Sulfate 100mg) Question.

I just obtained a MS Contin 100mg tablet. It is Baby Blue and has an 'M' on one side (with a square around it, similar to Oxy 30s) and a 100 on the other side. I am curious to the potential routes of administration that can be approached. I am not a fan of the taste via insuffulation, and am unsure if they 'gel' up by adding water. How are they when heat is applied (to inhale smoke)? Well please help me out here and a bit of bioavailability if possible. Thank you!

morphine i know has a pretty low oral BA, 30% i think. rectals something like 80% i think nasal is somehwhat low as well
as for if it gels up im not familliar with those sorry :/

I don't know the smoked BA, but I've read that you get these BA's:

PO: 25-30%
IV: 100%
Rectal: 25-30%; you can raise the rectal BA by adding some baking soda to you mix before drawing it up; helps with absorption and gets the BA to around 60-80%; about 300mg of baking soda should do the trick if you plan on plugging the entire pill at once...that's a lot of morphine though lol...
IM is somewhere up there with IV.

Bioavailability chart (no smoked BA I'm afraid but please don't do that! Smoking pills is not good, think of all those fillers and binders and general crap you will be inhaling.. plus the morphine may well be degraded by the heat, but I'm not sure about the temp at which that would happen..)

Your best bet is to crush/chop it up as fine as you can and parachute it or plug it, as Doug said.

If you have no opioid tolerance you don't want to be ingesting 100mg at once - 30mg max for someone opioid naive I feel, so 1/3 of the pill.

Yeah like others said just crush it up and parachute it... Even though I swallow the powder as is cause I'm so use to it that it doesn't even bother me.... Yet don't swallow the whole 100mgs at once break the pill up like effie said. That's just too much to take if you don't have a tolerance ect. I'm not sure if you'll like it that much I didn't really ever enjoy morphine orally. I only enjoy it through IV but I wouldn't go down that route.

Also I forgot to say is don't smoke it. You shouldn't smoke pills (I'm being hypocritical though since I've done it). Yet, its such a bad idea and my lungs weren't happy with me... Also smoking ms contin is pretty pointless you won't even get the high you're looking to receive. Might even burn it and not get high at all.
