i never knew when i was listening to it on the radio as a kid that it wasn't "MISTAH-VEY", wasn't sure what it meant, but it sounded sexy...

but the point of this thread is "another night" by real mccoy only has 13 million views in the last 9 years.

thought "another night" would be remembered more fondly...

totally forgot about "mr. vein" since i was a kid. it's on the radio way less than stuff like "another night" and "rythm is a dance" and "sweet dreams"... that style of 90's synth is pretty cool.

i'm thinking this might be a pointless thread after writing it, cause there might be other you tube links with the same videos... either way, i feel like 31 million views is a lot for mr. vein in 4 years....

so another thing i noticed on you tube today was i got recommended a reh dogg song. i think he might just be a you tube star. i'm not sure what's up with him...

this was his song "why must i cry" which got 8 million views over 13 years on you tube

this is his new video. it's been out for a year:

it only has 2000 views... i figure it would have more... i dunno... i think "why must i cry" is kind of a better song... still the new song isn't bad.

reh doggs delivery kind of reminds me of lisa jaynes... maybe it's a little out of tune. the confidence level is kind of weird, but there's still a lot of spirit and good sound

i wish i could find out what the most played 90's dance music is over all the different streaming services.

i'd think real mccoy "another night" would be the most popular... here's the video... it reminds me of how people say they are stuck on a factory line or whatever when they smoke salvia... i kind of got vibes of that with closed eye visuals on MDA just sitting around smoking weed, but it was all just random colors moving together.. the video is realistic. video probably inspired by drugs imo:

Cher "do you believe in love" has got a ton of you tube watches in the past four years... definitely a more laid back electronic beat, but still similar to 90's dance music. i can see why it has so many views... i was also thinking it doesn't have the rap parts that a lot of 90's dance music has, and i always felt that the rapping in some dance music really throws the vibe of the song off, like "rhythm is a dancer" and "another night". defintely see why people are listening to cher, although i'm fonder of some of the earlier 90's dance hits...

this song was real good to me when i used to hear it in the later 90's as a middle school. total mind fuck in a good way. i personally like this song more than the cher one:

and THIS has so many views on you tube... lol... even before the barbie movie it had billions of views... i was trying to figure out what this song is meant to represent and what the audience for it really was when it came out in 1997.. it used to kind of hypnotize me, and confuse me a lot as a middle schooler... some girl in my classes in school had a really squeeky girly voice, but she wasn't really a hoe.. i always wondered if the girl in the song was doing an impression or if it was her real voice.. she definitely sounds different in interviews i find out years later with you tube... this song is actually really hypnotic imo. one of the synths is pretty similar to madonna "holiday"... "barbie girl" goes at it pretty hard and as a dude watching the video is pretty hypnotic... i probably watched it like 50 or more times since i posted this thread. just generally making me feel good. lol... i want to know the demographic of people watching the barbie girl video that many times on you tube.:

the dude that does the voices for Aqua, the band that does "barbie girl", i noticed in some of their other songs that he sounds similar with what he's doing with his throat to some monks that do omm chanting.

i just want to say that i commented in this thread that "barbie girl" is the only Aqua song i like.. totally not true, they have a ton of a good songs i've been listening to a lot... i was just listening to the synth and weird beat (also the vocals) so many times in barbie girl that everything sounded weird going to try out other songs.. i might even like some other songs more... i really don't know.. Aqua can be addicting though... like i totally get into the female vocals as a male observing it like porn, but the dude is cool as hell and totally fits making it more addicting too.

i usually don't comment on music i don't like unless i find something specific to be really weird that i find others would relate to like i've voiced some opinions on death metal vocals cause i thought others would have the same opinion so it's kind of funny, or it's a thread about people commenting on their tastes i might say if i don't like something... i don't really want to be a buzzkill if any random people stumble upon this in the archives. i want my play list to make some sense. i thought maybe only like barbie girl was something specific about the beat specific people would like, but no way, most aqua songs are perfect. none of it is even bad.
