Hello all, thanks for clicking. Bit of a dilemma maybe some of you can help me out on. I have a friend who has chronic pain issues, and as many may know it is damn near impossible to find chronic pain management these days. So I didn't blame him when he went to the street and bought a handful of oxycodone pills through a friend of a friend of an old contact of an acquaintance (you get the idea). He had been taking them for a few days when his neuroticism finally kicked in and he went on the internet to look for problems as he is wont to do. Finding that pills can easily be pressed, and being a chemistry student, he has fixated on the idea that he somehow may have been ingesting MPTP as the pills could be knock-offs made of desmethylprodine instead of oxycodone. My friend...he's an anxious guy. But i figured id ask for him, you know...
To the point: I know there were a slew of cases of MPP+ induced parkinsons in the late seventies and mid eighties - have there been any cases since? I cant find anything on the internet in the way of case reports - but i imagine his anxiety isnt totally unfounded. Sloppy desmethylprodine synthesis in china, pressed into an oxy lookin thing with some blue dye, boom parkinsons in a pill. Does this happen?
Thank u kindly for reading and in advance for responses
