Hello there everybodies!
Not posted here in a while, but I had the strangest - and yet the most amazing - trip on MPA (methiopropamine) last night that I wanted to share and to get your opinions on.
Firstly, a bit of background - I'm a 48 yo male with some experience of MDMA, methylone, aMT, MPA and 6-APB, along with that perennial favourite cannabis. I've been using two legal chems almost exclusively for the past few months: aMT (which gives me a lovely, mild, MDMA-like warmth that lasts for ages) and MPA (as a mild stimulant to help me focus on work and tasks and suchlike). I've been using both the chems, in varying quantities, most days in some combination or other for the last few months (yes, I know - I'm not bragging, and I'm aware that it's potentially risky behaviour, but I'm mentioning it because it might have a bearing on last night's experience...)
Even at the start, I seemed to have quite high tolerances to both chems, needing 100mg aMT to get anywhere near the euphoria and rush that other people report with 20-30mg; with MPA, I've often taken two doses (separated by a couple of hours) in an evening of about 60-80mg each, again pretty high doses for most people.
Last week, I was away on holiday and, two days in, I had an awful serotonin depletion crash, not helped by tiredness and lack of sleep leading up to the holiday. This was almost certainly caused by the aMT I took on the Sunday evening, two days into the holiday (because I decided to have a ten days without any MPA at all, so it seems unlikely that MPA - or MPA tolerance - had anything to do with it. But who knows?). It was the most awful, most miserable, most hellish 24-36 hours of my life: sleep paralysis, paranoia, the worst dreams you could imagine, on continuous loop, every time I tried to sleep. I spent several hours, awake in the middle of the night, curled up on the sofa in my hotel room crying, worried that I'd damaged my brain for good. Absolutely horrible. Fortunately, a good friend on here, clubberdude, talked me through it all via Facebook, and eventually I came out of it fine, if a little shaken.
Anyway.... cut to last night... I'd been home from my holiday for 24 hours and had lots and lots of catching up to do in preparation for Christmas, so I decided to take a (for me) smallish dose of MPA to get me moving.
At 17.15 I took 40mg in some fruit juice and started to get on with things, expecting the MPA to subtly (as it does) kick in in about 30 mins-1 hour.
At t+ 40mins I felt a really nice buzz - not the kind of buzz that I associated with MPA, but even nicer.
At t+ 2 hrs, I took another 40mg...
... half an hour later, I was absolutely flying!! Words can't really do justice to it (but, of course, I'll try!). The closest thing I can compare it to is one of the first MDMA trips I ever took: smooth, warm, empathic, euphoric. Music was brilliant, and I felt absolutely wonderful.
A little later I tried some, erm, sex stuff (solo) which was in-cred-ible!!! Really. I won't go into the details, but blimey o'reilly, I surprised even myself
Normally, a couple of hours in to an MPA 'trip', I'd have had a spliff or a glass of wine or cider or something, but this trip was so good I didn't want to 'spoil' it, if you know what I mean - LOL So I hung on until about t+ 8 hrs when I had a spliff and some cider, which smoothed it all out and made it even more slushy and lovely.
Finally managed a very satisfying wank at about t+ 10 hours and went to bed feeling bloody lovely. Woke up just after lunchtime and have felt great all day.
Anyone have any idea what that was all about? MPA has never hit me like that before. In fact, even at its strongest, it's never done much more than make me feel a little bit buzzy. I'm sure having a 10-day break from it has helped (but even right at the start of my MPA-taking, I never experienced anything like this). Could it have something to do with the serotonin crash I experienced on holiday? How would that work, cos I'm not quite certain of the mechanism by which MPA operates...?
I suspect that last night's MPA trip may be a one-off, but I really, really, REALLY hope not
Has anyone else experienced anything like this from MPA? Or have I finally destroyed by brain?
cheers m'dears
