I had a much easier time going from Suboxone to Methadone than vice versa. And believe me I battled both for a total of 7 years. Got clean from Suboxone and the withdrawals were the worst I have ever tried to take on (tapered down to 1 mg... not even close to low enough.) I stayed awake, with only little microsleeps for 27 days! Fuck Subs!
On Methadone, however, I worked my way up to 120mg while living in MI, moved to South Beach, and tapered all the way down to 2 mg and jumped, and it was much, much easier. But I understand what you mean about the cloudy head. My dad said after I got off the Methadone that "it seemed like my IQ went up about 100 points."
Maybe reconsider your options here.
