Nobody mentions Natural Born Killers? Thats probably one of the best films of all time (IMO)

"natural born killers"

not in the directors cut :)

yay I get to be the first to post "The Sting" - another Robert Redford classic.

The Usual Suspect has to be the best example of bad guys beating cops

Fear and loathing (based strictly on the film it appears that they get away with all the crimes they commit.)

The Count of Monty Cristo. (Even though he's not really a criminal, I guess, but he sure gets even with everyone.)

Escape from Alcatraz (Eastwood escapes but you never really know if he survives...)

Lord of War and Gone in 60 Seconds. (Can't remember the endings of these two that clearly so correct me if I'm wrong, but Nick cage is a successful criminal in both of these. Seems to be a running theme in his movies....)

Okay I'll give you that one...however that was just the alternate ending and not part of the finished product/film. It was just one of the special features. Even Oliver Stone disagree's with it...it wasn't even that good of an ending...you can't kill M and M off....They're the (anti)-heroes...stars of the show....I would've been so angry if that alternate ending was used in the finished film. Killed by their own gaurdian angel...how fucked up is that....

Its like the alternate ending in Clerks where Dante has his brains blown out. Thats just flat-out fucked up. I can't even fathom why that was even filmed because it had no place in the film and shouldn't have even been considered a possible ending. WTF.

Bah...

you don't think the director of the movie gets to make those kinds of decisions?

I didn't say that. I'm saying that I don't understand it...It makes no sense to me. Yes it is up to the director. And Kevin Smith didn't use it so its all good...It's simply a special feature.

I don't mean to complain...it was late last night when wrote that post and I was very tired...I was just stating my opinion on that and got kinda worked up in the process...I don't know.

It is the director's decision of whats relevant...I understand the possibility of that happening in the world (Dante being killed/robbed) because that does infact happen...but my point is that it takes the film in an entirely different direction in the last few seconds. It makes no sense. It doesn't fit...

Again yes the decision is the director's and Kevin Smith decided that it didn't fit either so its all good.

^ i'm not riding you - i'm just trying to spark some discussion.

to me, there's a world of diference between "i don't underdstand it" and "[it] shouldn't have even been considered"

1994's The Chase, with Charlie Sheen. He gets away, and gets the millionare's hot daughter to go with him to. Kristy Swanson is f'n hot in it.

I'd say no one wins in fight club... kinda why I like it. Unless you consider survival winning, which I don't. Many a times in high school I survived those damn 1 mile runs...
