I just seen "Donnie Darko" and what a movie it was. I have my own thought of the ending of this movie but am not sure about it, I hope that a few of you can make my mind a little more clear about it, so if a few of you can email me at: [email protected]
Just to let me know on your thoughts of the ending of Donnie Darko. I don't want to tell you mine as I don't want to ruin anyone's story in watching it :) Thanks.

Just walked in from seeing 'Catch me if you Can'.
Something totally unique, well acted, a true story and pretty amazing in both scope and just general creative genius on the part of the real man behind the movie.
I found this totally engrossing. Another one by Steve Spielberg, hasnt really received much applause (from what I've noticed, but I havent had time to notice much recently).
8.5 / 10
Btw just for the record, the last crop of movies I've seen all seem to be getting extroadinary ratings but trust that I'm not just spinning shit on this lot (Bowling for Columbine, Donnie Darko, Catch me if you Can, Road to Perdition).
Cant wait to see 'One hour Photo' and 'Gangs of New York'.
Were really getting some quality cinema at the moment folks, dont pass it up :)
P.S. Love this >>>

Amelie... most of you have probably seen it, but if you haven't its a definite crowd pleasure even if you don't like subtitles :P
The Sum of All Fears, unfortunately i'm a big fan of hollywood blockbusters, but i don't think this ever made it out to the cinema's due to Sept. 11, Tom Clancy fans come a runnin! this movie is excellent!

Its not out yet but I'm really looking forward to The Quiet American, the book is supposed to be a brilliant account of the beginnings of the Vietnam war.

About Schmidt
Jack Nicholson (As Good As It Gets, Few Good Men)
Kathy Bates (Misery, Primary Colours)
Slow moving film about Mr.Schmidt, Jack Nicholson whose wife dies after 42 years of marriage. Explores how he deals with his grief in a sometimes humorous yet sensitive way, as he prepares for his daughters wedding. Solid performance from Jack Nicholson and Kathy Bates make it watchable but it’s definitely an art house piece so not to everyone’s taste. Runtime is about 100 minutes, which is just long enough without being protracted.
If you liked “The Man Who Wasn’t There” or similar films, you’ll like this.

Chicago - Thought it was great...I'm a big fan of musicals so I really enjoyed this one. Am yet to see the stage show tho.
Have got Amelie at home to watch tonight!

donnie darko, while good and enjoyable, was not as well executed as i thought it could've been. possibly overhyped :\

I agree about Amelie. was amazing, even the second time around.
sum of all fears did make it out to the movies, it wasn't bad as a film, but once again, and as almost always, the book was so much better than the film.
CB :)

Well... I dont think this can end, when will I see a movie that isnt just fucking brilliant?
I wouldnt usually swear for the sake of a review but I'm at a loss for words.
Chicago ..... Amazing.
So much energy, complexity and movement in one sitting with hardly a moment to take it all in between explosions of truly amazing dancing.
If you've ever lost yourself on a dance floor you'll watch this and be left breathless, a musical from start to finish - and something totally unexpected.
I dont think you could walk into this one with an idea of what your going to see and be close to the reality of the film.
9 out of 10? Meh... 10 out of 10

Jackass - The movie.
Well expect a storyline, and you'll be dissapointed. Expect movie length episode type antics (only a lot more psycho) and you'll be pissing your pants in fits of laughter. I must admit, if watching someone eat a 'snow cone' they just pissed on will invoke your upchuck reflex, don't watch this.
But then the alligator in Bam's kitchen topped it ;)
i won't spoil any more..

Has anyone seen the Lord of the Rings 2 more than once?
I ask this because when i initially saw it i was blown away by this film. Coupled with all the whole boxing day hype, i ranked it up there as one of my favourite movies. But then i saw it again the other night for the second time..... and it reaked.
Except for the epic battle scene, i found myself STRUGGLING to put up with those annoying hobbits. In the latter part of the 3 hours i found myself wishing those trees (and whatever forest animals willing to join the crusade) would simply crush them into hobbit mush and use their caracass' to start a hobbit compost heap (mental note - is this wrong?).
Maybe i'm just being an complete tit here, but does anyone else feel this way?

Donnie Darko is now available for hire on video...so i'm telling you all to hire it.
Easily the best movie of last year.
Now i just got wait to buy it.

One Hour Photo
Easily one of the creepiest movies I've ever seen. Robyn Williams is so believable as Si the photo guy... I won't say any more :P
Definately worth seeing, 9.5 / 10.

My Life as A House
Oh my God.
What a simply incredible movie. Fanstastic acting, story and dialogue.
Based around a man (Kevin Kline) who is told he has less than 4 months to live. Instead of telling his family members he goes about building a house and trying to mend relationships with all these people he has neglected over the years.
I am not joking this is one of the most moving films that I have ever seen. Simply superb in every aspect.
Also stars Hayden Christiiansen from Star Wars 2 fame, and another well known Hollywood actress who's name escapes me.
See this film. It is mindblowing. It takes a hell of a lot to get a reaction out of me from films and this one had me with watery eyes.(I am a guy).
10/10
(equals my #1 spot for movies, the #1 being American Beauty)

star trek: nemesis
not bad, better than the last trekkie movie... well produced. didnt live up to its potential though.

I CONCUR!

I'm about to sit down and watch "Death to Smoochy". If it's as good as the guy who lent me the DVD claims it to be, I'll be back with a review in a couple of hours... :)
***EDIT***
OK, that was pretty good. Not sure if I'd call it an all time classic, but if you're looking for a good movie for a pizza night then this would be a great option. I'd imagine it'd be 100 times better with a heap of people around (and if you're stoned). Pretty shit hot cast too considering it was a straight to video release. I give it 3.5 stars... :)

Timing pleo.
Just seen 'Death to Smoochy'. I'll give it a 9.5 out of 10 (Again, the string of excellent movies is just great).
Robin Williams / Edward Norton / Danny Devito. The acting put on by the cast in this movie is first class - wether its Robin Williams struggling to beat up a dwarf or Edward Norton extolling the virtues of having no salt in your diet (whilst being in a giant purple Rhino suit, brandishing a gun).
Nearly every single line is quoteable, attacks commercialism, drugs, sexuality, childrens tv, modern morals and big business all with absolutely cutting and well timed wit.
If you spend a lot of your time 'thinking outside the square you live in' you'll love this one.
Huge props to two of my favourite actors (Williams and Norton) and thanks to me from Freedom for the shitty plug.
:)

I'm actually going to up my rating to 4 stars, given that it's two days later and I'm still giggling about a few things when I think of them...
"Your step dad's not mean, he's just adjusting"... :D

Shnouzerpuff is correct Life as a House is one of the most moving films i've ever had the pleasure of watching.
