Mother using my Ativan prescription

I believe that my mother has been using my Ativan prescription.

A little while ago, my mother was in pretty severe pain after pulling a muscle in her leg. Aspirin and Tylenol weren't helping her, so I told her that if she was in that much pain, she should take one of my Ativan because it would relax the muscle, allow her to get a bit of sleep and therefore, take some of the pain away. She declined at first (being the antidrug person she is) but eventually - she gave in, went ahead and took one. I could tell it really helped her because of how well she slept, and when she woke up - she told me how much it had helped.

Fast forward a couple months - I've noticed that I keep running out of my Ativan early each month, and yet, I've actually been taking LESS than what I'm prescribed. I didn't think much of it at first, but then I happened to hear my dad imply something that very strongly suggested that she was taking my pills - she had actually recommended to him that he take one if he had a headache because it helped her when she had a headache (which, as far as I'm aware, she's never taken one for a head ache before).

That was kind of a really big red flag for me and now I'm worried that she may have been taking them, without my knowledge, and that's why I'm running out of them a week or so before they get filled.

To be honest, I'm totally fine with anyone in my house taking one of my Ativan once in a while. They really do have a wide-therapeutic range (meaning, it can be used for many things) especially when the OTC stuff hasn't helped. But, if my mom is in fact taking my meds a couple times a week - I definitely have a problem with that.

I have a problem with that because - while taking Ativan a couple times a week won't precipitate withdrawals (if dosed correctly, and if the dosages aren't increased), that means that if I need it I won't have it.

This is sort of an ironic thread lol. Usually, it a mother asking people what they should do because their child is taking their meds. Anyways, I have no proof that she's doing it - only suspicions and a med supply that doesn't add up to what I'm taking. So, I'm not sure if I should confront her about it (because she would only deny it if I did), or what I should do.

Sounds to me like she's taking them, unless the pharmacist counted wrong. Count your pills when you get them...and hide them, or keep them with you.

I have to keep all of my meds on me, and with me, or they will get taken. That is the worst. Sorry this is happening. If they help your mom, she more than likely can get her own Rx.

You're also the same person who early on stated that your mother had control of your drugs to keep you from abusing them. Hmmm...
