Back in the mid 80's, I "borrowed" 200mg of alphaethyltryptamine from the labs of the uni where I did my M.Sc.. I thought it was fairly amazing (for an anti-depressant) at the time, and it wasn't until 9 years later when I had my first dose of MDMA that I realized just how wonderful it was.
For anybody interested, it was more like MDA than MDMA, but didn't have much of a stimulant edge compared with MDxx compounds, but it did have one of the most intense euphoric effects I've experienced (imagine AMT type euphoria, but that leads on to a MDxx type effect). Also, it lasted about 6 hours, as opposed to the 3-4 hours of MDMA, and as said previously, it didn't have the lasting speediness that you get after the main effects of MDMA have worn off.
Shame it got put onto the controlled drugs list in the 90's

, gosh, if we only had known what layed ahead for some of those outstanding mood-altering substances from days gone by, we could have actually stashed a quantity or two.
