I have to disagree with you on that one. I think there's only one thing more corny than an American ad - and that's an American ad with dubbed over Aussie voices. Do the people who dub those ads think that because the people are now speaking with an Australian accent, we will believe them more? The situation and context of the ad is still American, even if the voices are.
A lot of the ads that have been mentioned (like the Herbal Essences and the Franklins ones), I actually find amusing to watch because they're so corny and lame. There are few ads that I actually despise with a passion, but these include two new Coca Cola ads.
In one of them, a guy's car breaks down in the desert, but then he hitches a lift with an attractive young woman. In another, three guys are trying to carry a lounge up an apartment stairwell, but the lounge gets stuck, so all the women going up and down the stairs have to squeeze past the lounge in order to get past (of course the guys are now sitting on the lounge enjoying the view).
Quick! Pass me a bottle of coke!! If I drink some, perhaps I will fall into an amusing predicament in which hoardes of attractive young women will come out of nowhere and start flirting uncontrollably with me? And maybe if I drink enough of it, the situation will descend into a hard-core orgy of passion and sex, because God knows women can't resist the lure of a guy with a bottle of Coke!!
