Most addictive substance? (your opinion)

1.Nicotine
2.Alcohol

Following at a distant third would be opiates specifically oxycodone. Out of all the opiates ive taken which are oxycodone, morphine, meperidine, codeine and propoxyphene (if you could even call that an opioid) oxycodone had the most morish factor to it. As in i want more now. I havent tried heroin or hydromorphone yet so if i do opiates might go farther up on the scale of addictiveness. Even with oxycodone i went through mild to moderate withdrawal with no major problem's. It wasn't nearly as hellish as trying to quit drinking for good.

Cigarettes are harder to quit then alcohol but not by much and they didnt fuck up my life like alcohol did. But i cant stop thinking about the fuckers.

I never saw what the big deal was with crack/coke. I have friends who have ruined their lives on the stuff but i would hardly walk across the street to get it.

It just goes to show how susceptible some people are to getting addicted to certain drug's. I know people who would say that oxycodone is crap yet they love coke.

I smoked ice for a while, which is supposed to be right up there. About almost a year non-stop and it was easy for me to kick. Apparently some people claim it's the most addicting substance after nicotine. I have a hard time believing that, but I admit the ritual of smoking is something else entirely.

Then I experienced opiates. Vicodin to Oxy to Heroin. They are #1, I cannot live w/o some form of this class of drug. I am addicted to the very core.

I think it depends on brain chemistry.

"Most Addicting" is so hard to classify. Certain drugs like OxyContin and Crack are so expensive you're bound to hit rock bottom much sooner. So you may wind up forced to quit. While cigarettes are cheap and essentially everywhere, so there are a lot more lifetime smokers.

good point :)

Ketamine is EXTREMELY habit forming for me when I have it around. As soon as I'm by myself, powder goes up my nose.

^^ ditto on the k.

i realize i am in the minority, but i never found opiates particularly addictive. i IV'd heroin/coke everyday for about 5 months, and had no problem quitting at all. i just became bored with it. same with meth. i've used poppy tea for many years since and have no problem using it in moderation (maybe once/twice a month).

ketamine is the one that i find the hardest to control, but it's never around as much as i'd like anyways, so it's no problem keepng it in check. i'd likely be in trouble if i had access to a cheap, unlimited supply though. :\

the hardest addiction for me to break was hash. i smoked it everyday for 7 years straight, and had a hell of a time quitting. and of course nicotine. on again/off again with that one. :(

Fentanyl. Its got an amazing rush but only lasts 25-30 minutes. I placed some in a nasel inhaler and regular as clockwork, night and day, every 45 minutes I needed more. The withdrawal makes heroin withdrawal look like nothing.
As for ketobemidone, I've only tried it once but MAN it was amazing. I suggest that 3 methyl acetyl ketobemidone would be the kingpin. The acetyl group allows it to cross the BBB much faster and the 3-methyl (if it's like the prodines) would make it a lot stronger. e.g. MPPP is 0.7x morphine, raecemic prodine is 5.5x morphine. Apparently the 3-ethyl is even stronger. I don't have exact figures, but allyl prodine (3 allyl) is the strongest of the series. If anyone has the exact figure on that, I would appreciate it.

I know ill get blasted by saying this but steroids for me.

Would not blast you at all. I think steroids are very underrated in the addiction potential. I know it's hard to quit especially if you get many + benefits of being huge. Just ask Vince McMahon.

opiates....its a mental thing for me though...i just like them. I can go months without them and then they come into my possession and i get a feeling come over me almost like a fiend

for me IV coke, heroin was harder to get off of initialy by far... but the urges for shooting cocaine are still strong in my head, can't go more then afew days with out bustin down and doin it again.

nicotine. ive tried a few opiates too but ive been able to turn them down. im careful not to get addicted to opiates. but nicotine is one habit i just cannot seem to kick:(

yea i would say fent WDs are hands down, the worst of all opiates/opioids ive tried...feels almost like a cross between xanax and oxy WD; hits SO hard but fortunately, ends quickly. i stop WDing from fent within 3 days.

nicotine AND it's shit.
alcohol AND it's shit.
ritalin ...you get the idea.

But I don't care too much. My version of addiction is about 25% of peoples' version of 'sensible use'. The day I add a drug I love to this list is the day I stop caring about life itself.

edit : the bluelight 'new posts' button is about 100 times more addictive than all of these. I love/hate that button - 1am becomes 4am before I know it.
