Most addictive substance? (your opinion)

FractalStructure said:
that is one of the stupidest things i have ever heard on this site..no offense...
of course methadone and heroin are opiates. very powerful opiates at that.
both are more powerful than OC, in my opinion, but to me, oxy is extremely addictive, along with alprazolam

i know where you're coming from, there was a time in my life where i HAD to smoke a few times a day, but this is not a true addiction, even though stopping can be mildly uncomfortable. its a bad habit, thats it. it cannot even compare to the drugs i have just listed as 1st and 2nd place.. but dont think im dicksizing, i know where you're coming from.. just wait till u have a proper opiate/benzo addiction

P.S. Amphetamine addiction, whereas its meth or pharm amph, is extremely detrimental to your health, much more so than opiate addiction. im talking about smoking meth everyday or 80mg of adderall+/daily.. good ol' amphetamine psychosis

i am of the belief that withdrawal does not define the addiction. ive been through hellish SSRI withdrawal, in fact i relapsed twice just to get away from the withdrawal even though i never liked the shit in the first place. so essentially there is a drug with a horrible withdrawal syndrome but one i wouldnt even consider addictive. marijuana on the other hand, took over my thoughts and my mind like nothing else on this planet ever has. i would think about it every second of every hour of every day when i didn't have it. it totally controlled my life and i didnt care about anything else other than marijuana. ive never met a tobacco smoker who didnt care about anything besides tobacco. i guess the bottom line is different addictions are different.

I think it totally depends upon the person using the drug.

Personally it would be extremely difficult for me to get addicted to any type of stimulant. Simply because I don't like how they make me feel 90% of the time.

For me it's heroin. or maybe oxycodone, or hydromorphone. IV'ed. Opiates just did it for me. When i finally tried heroin after fuckin around with oxy for a year or so, it just hit me. Heroin is what I had been looking for.

I think addiction comes around when people have tried a few drugs just to see what they're like. But no one ever plans on "what if i REALLY REALLY REALLY like how this drug makes me feel, then what?"

thats what happened to me, i wanted to try every drug at least once. but i didn't really have a plan for what would happen if i fell in love with one of them.
addiction is totally a person to person thing.

when i was in rehab most of the junkies were like "how the fuck could you be addicted to crack it's such a nasty high?"
and most of the crackheads were like "how the fuck could you be addicted to heroin, how could nodding out all day be fun?"

For me oxycodone (roxicodone, 30 mg x 5 for one dose @ 4 times a day for me) was most addicting. But benzo w/d is much worse than oxy w/d, IMO.

For me it's alcohol. I've been struggling with a drinking problem for over a year, although it's getting better now and I haven't drank in a week or 2.

-short term ( a.k.a hey, i want more now!!! wise) - crack.
-long term (a.k.a try get this monkey from your back, phisycal withdrawls wise) - opiates, heroin specially.
-benzos, specially for anxious personalities. can be worse than opiates no doubt.

all these in the same rate, i tried to mention the differences by the way i tiped this post...

hands down, opiates....

p.s theres nothing hard at all to kick nicotine addiction, from personal experience, since it gets you that it gives you nothing high-wise; unlike say opiates.

Crack and alcohol. Theres no way I can stop using for a night until I am piss drunk and can fall alseep in 1 second.

i do know where the guy who said marijuana is coming from, i once struggled with "weed addiction"

telling my dad all the time omg im goin thru WEED withdrawls can i have one of ur oxy it takes them away.. how i wish i could go back and change that

fast forward a few years, i can now go for like a fuckin year without smoking chronic if i want but if i try to go a day without oxy i enter fucking hell

oxy addiction is one of the hardist things ive ever had to deal with in my life and by far ownz "weed addiction" i thought it was shitty to be all grumpy and bitchy cuz i didint get to smoke a bowl

shit gets a little different when u dont get to take ur usual dose of narcotics every 4-6 hours..

anyways what i was trying to say is that there is such a thing as being dependant on weed as in u have to smoke it every day to feel.. i guess you could say "normal" but whats considerd "not normal" when u dont smoke weed is very very easy to handle compared to the "not normal" u get when u start to withdrawl from opiates.

so with that being said

Oxycodone - definantly the most addictive substance for ME and i placed it first since im currently still struggleing with this addiction.
Cocaine - i put this second since i struggled with mental attachment to this drug and lost alot of my material possesions to it but it was nowhere near as physical attachment as oxy was, plus i wasent ever super hardkore into this shit and never did start smoking rock thankfully so i dont really know how crack would compare on this list but i know how soft does.

and last but not least

Nicotine - this comes last cuz i havent even really tried to quit it and guess i totaly underestimate it, when the time comes that i run outa tobacco and decide to stop slowly killing myself ill tell u guys how that goes lol

peace.

(sorry if the post is all rambled and bad grammAr and all that)

Meth-IV/Smoked for me...last statistic I heard was a 94% relapse rate....that takes the cake...
Don't think I'm going to IV meth anymore though unless I decide to start speedballing it with OCs or heroin again....that was how I really fell hard for IV use....

to be honest - nicotine. i can go days (weeks even!) without using opiates- specifically heroin, my number 2, but if i dont have a cigarette every couple hours you dont really want to talk to me!
