if there ever was an addictive psychedelic...it would be the user's fault for letting himself or herself fall into addiction...but as for being the most addictive drug in general...opiates take the cake...but it all boils down to self-control...no matter how addictive any drug is...if one has the mental fortitude and will to limit his or her drug use...then addiction is not an issue...what about withdrawls you say...well you don't get withdrawls from doing it once...and the urge to do it again is purely mental...
as for the worst drug...there's no such thing...everyone should understand the consequences of their actions...a person who takes a drug knowing the damage it may do to them accepts those consequences...and a person who goes ahead taking drugs without knowing the effects is probably too ignorant to care or has no regard for his or her life to begin with...
and i feel this thread belongs in the Other Drugs forum...

I think nicotine is by far the easiest substance to get addicted to. The question is: is this more due to availability, social acceptance, or actual body chemistry? (I've seen studies that have said that nicotine is the most addictive, but I'm not sure if they took into account the widespread use of nicotine as opposed to other substsances)
I think opiates are probably the hardest to kick once addiction has fully set in, due to the fact that physical withdrawl is so uncomfortable (allegedly).
I don't know exactly what you mean by the word "worst". Alcohol and nicotine are probably the worst for your physical health and your body (excluding the brain). The worst substance for your mental health is a trickier one to rate... there are lots of substances, like dissociatives and hallucinogens, that have the potential to really scramble you if you use them habitually.

its really al mental unless there is a physical addiction and ya dont want to feel the withdrawels then you keep taken i for that reason...but really there is nbo answere for your question if ya ask me

ive had my fair share of crack, coke, meth, blahblahblah, but honestly, ive never EVER come across such an "addictive" drug as mdma.
thats right, mdma.. im sure this varies for most, but for me.. ugh.
sure after spending a night of hitting the rock, the thought of scrounging enough cash for another 50 piece and calling the local ghetto dealer back over played through my mind, but never have i NEEDED to act on such..
went through 4 e's the last roll, and called the fucker back TWICE that same night. call it stupid, call it ignorant, but i must have gone through 6 pills that night. 2 with friends, and the other 4 ALONE.
suffice to say the "afterglow" was a killer, and something id never want to experience again.
ive since given up the mdma experience, and have switched the "devil drug" label over from jib to e.. sure it's my stupidity that led me to this conclusion, and im sure lots of you out there will flip over it, but christ..
talk about an addiction in capsule form..

mdma is definitely not the most addictive, if youre trying to get addicted to mdma then youre gonna get a slap in the face and a wakeup call to reality shortly.

MDMA? Addictive? Mentally maybe, but you've got to be a fucking moron to be addicted to e. Already after rolling 2 nights in a row, I could feel the loss of potency. I've gone though an e honeymoon, but we soon tired of each other...
I've had my share of benzo addictions, but it really is easy to quit if you want to, even after a year of steady benzo use.
Nicotine may not always have bad withdrawals, but it's SO hard to quit smoking(I haven't yet), that craving just never goes away....

This is mainly just people's opinions on what they believe is the most addicting drug, but it really boils down to three factors: availability, body chemistry, and mental condition.
No matter how much you want a drug, if you can't buy it you can't get addicted to it. If you live in the middle of the fucking tundra in the Northwest Territory, you probably aren't gonna get addicted to smack if your dealer only marches his Eskimo ass out there twice a year. This is why you hear so much about people quitting smoking and AA meetings, alcohol and tobacco can be purchased just about anywhere with little hassle. I believe the government should find out what's the most addictive drug in America but legalizing and making all drugs equally available, then whatever the majority of the American populace is addicted to, is the most addictive drug in America
Now, body chemistry, I have heard many studies that a propensity for alcoholism and other addictive conditions can be hereditary (i.e. your dad's an alcoholic, so your more likely to be an alcoholic). This could just come from growing up in the enviroment where use of drugs is normal, but who knows? I just know that if my family has a history of heart problems, I'll eat healthy and exercise, so if they have a history of drug addiction, I'd stay away from drugs (for the most part).
Mental condition would be what's happening when people are addicted to stuff like LSD. Your body isn't crying out for more because your constantly using it, in the case of meth or alcohol, but you just enjoy the state of mind you get from it so much that you want to experience it again and again. I've often read advice that people with escapist personalities shouldn't use drugs like LSD and mushrooms that can put them in "new worlds", but I think that's a little bit too general of a statement, I figure the only way to find out if you'll get addicted to drugs is to do them.
Now that I've finished my informative essay on addictive drugs, heh, I'd just like to say that in my personal experience methamphetamine and oxycodone can be pretty tough.

As far as illegal drugs go: Crack/Cocaine...
The instant gratification aspect of crack/coke makes it something people tend to get hooked on to easier, or even better hang around some people shooting coke all night, and see how often they look up from preparing a rig, maybe once, or twice in a few hours, basically, until the precious coke is gone...
Reference the "How to get Girls to do Coke" post for scientific/factual analysis and conjecture of women and cocaine addiction.
Also, any assfuck can do some lines or smoke a rock, but most people shy away from needles. It generally takes time and needles to harbor a good addiction on other drugs.
And of course, by the logic above, the actual most addicitve drug is obviously, Nicotine. Both for it's pharmalogical aspects and the societal ease surronding it's use...

What keeps a user using is psychological addiction. In that case the only thing that really defines what drug will be more addictive than the next is 100% the user.
I've used just about every recreatonal drug out there a least a handful of times. Ignoring oxycodone, the other drug I was by far the most addicted to was LSD. A few years ago, even after using heroin for months, come Friday night if I had $20 and a choice, I would have picked acid over smack.

While i have never had any problems being addicted or pheening a certain drug, i rreally wouldnt know what to think here. Ive smoked my fair of cigarettes, hell ever going through a pack almost at parties just for the hell of it being high on some drug, and never wanted any after that. But if i had to choose something, it would be meth. Ive seen a few friends go overboard with and fall into it pretty easily. Luckily ive never had any problem whatsoever in dealing with drugs.

"whats the most addictive drug" - well, it depends on who's hands it's in.. the drug produces a feeling, and if that feeling is the one in which the user feels to benifit from the most... you could talk about which drugs are known to produce a physicall tolllerance, but not this...
