morphine reaction - heroin reaction

Ok I did the morphine IV and I felt heat go through my body and i felt like i couldn't breath and then started to hallucinate..........there was no euphoria.

Will heroin make me feel the same way?

I love opiates vic, norco, perc, methadone, subutex, lortab, oxy and neither of these ever gave me this reaction.

on morphine i really thought i was going crazy and the world was against me.was this a normal reaction for some people......

Question if morphine did this to me then if i decide to do heroin will it be a bad experience since heroin and morphine are similar or are they?

Yes, heroin is a morphine prodrug. But because the morphine molecule has to acetyl groups, it pushes the morphine through the BBB quicker (so there is not as much histamine release as with morphine alone).

SO if i hated the feeling on morphine then i will probably hate heroin?

I love taking a lot of opiates and nodding out just laying there with a body high but for some reason morphine did not give this to me. i have no euphoria no nodding nothing but hallucinations and a burning in my neck and chest ...................was that all normal?

Are you saying there's no euphoria from IV'in morphine? If so, then heroin wouldn't be euphoric either. Because before the molecule even crosses the brain it's already been converted to morphine and morphine fill up the receptors and get you high. Heroin has very poor mu-receptor affinity, or none at all I think.
It's the morphine that gets you groovy. Even 6-MAM is a very minor metabolite and it too converts to morphine rather quickly.

That's why heroin is called a morphine prodrug.

This sounds like a really high dose of loratabs with an intense euphoric body high thats what i am looking for. If heroin does that then thats what i am looking for

I did notice that the morphine heat feeling lasted about 60 sec before going away and then i felt nothing at all.........

with norcos or loratabs at high doses i feel a body high a nod and a euphoric feeling and i am looking for something that will give me a feeling like this with out the weird feeling of morphine.

on morphine i seriously thought i was losing my mind and hallucinating and felt extreme anxiety....

does heroin cause this anxiety or am i just one of the lucky few to feel this was on morphine?

No heroin will usually not cause that kind of reaction because it's a faster acting form of morphine. It's more lipid soluble, it drives the morphine to your brain faster than morphine would on its own (which is why you may have had that reaction).

I've heard people react to heroin in the same fashion, because its a morphine prodrug. But usually you won't have this kind of reaction when shooting heroin, because it's higher lipid solubility makes it faster - so the morphine reaches your brain and gets you high quicker than morphine on its own.

I will look through the other threads to see some heroin experiences..........I am just scared of the whole hallucination reaction it was not fun and i did not feel good at all.... i actually felt like i was dying from sufforcation werid? I hate morphine i felt lost and weird and i couldn't breathe...........

Some people get very euphoric on Morphine & some dont like yourself. Everyones liver doesnt break Morphine down the same way. Havent tried either one but plan on trying Morphine one day.

My cousin went to the hospital for out of the blue because he couldnt get out of bed one day because of back pain. His wife took him to the hospital & they shot him up with Morphine & kept him over night, He said, he enjoyed the Morphine so much, it was heavenly & he could have died right there & then, his quotes.

I asked him if he hallucinated & he said he saw bright lights & he enjoyed looking at the out lining of the light around objects. I have heard of people hallucinating on Morphine, especially being ived.

Do you think it was because of my high opiate tolerance that the morphine didnt give me a euphoric feeling? I was taking 50mg of norcos every 3 hours for 6 months before using morphine. Do you think this affected the way morphine acted in my body?

Heroin converts to morphine right as it's going through the bloodstream and by the time it reaches the receptors in the brain it's ALL morphine from (6MAM plays a very small role overall, and it to converts to morphine rather quickly). The drugs are almost identical, look at their molecules.

In controlled studies comparing the physiological and subjective effects of injected heroin and morphine in individuals formerly addicted to opiates, subjects showed no preference for one drug over the other. Equipotent, injected doses had comparable action courses, with no difference in subjects' self-rated feelings of euphoria, ambition, nervousness, relaxation, drowsiness, or sleepiness. Short-term addiction studies by the same researchers demonstrated that tolerance developed at a similar rate to both heroin and morphine. When compared to the opioids hydromorphone, fentanyl, oxycodone, and pethidine/meperidine, former addicts showed a strong preference for heroin and morphine, suggesting that heroin and morphine are particularly susceptible to abuse and addiction. Morphine and heroin were also much more likely to produce euphoria and other positive subjective effects when compared to these other opioids.

There has to be if lortabs and norcos make me feel so great but morphine makes me feel horrible they are a lot different? i am guessing i am allergic to morphine so there is no way i will touch that again.

I cant answer why you get such dramatic differences in hydrocodone & morphine. Only thing I can come up with as did Kokaino is you may be allergic to morphine meaning you should stay away from heroin. Then again, maybe it was a one time thing & taking morphine again may not affect you the same & could be a good high next time you try it.

First time I tried Vicodin & Percs, I got so nauseated, I thought I was gonna puke. I was disgusted by them & didnt try them again for 10 years. Now I like them & they work great for my back pain.

I saw where you wrote you take 50mg hydrocodone every 3 hours which equals to 400mgs in a 24 hour period, thats a hefty dose spread out. I myself enjoy hydrocodone over oxycodone any day of the week & love it.

It's not a completely different reaction. When you use heroin, its the morphine that gets high you because heroin is just a prodrug (meanings its an inactive drug that converts to the active drug in the body - the active drug in this case is morphine). It's just the initial rush is different, because the morphine is being pushed or 'propelled' by the 2 acetyl groups quicker to the brain than morphine would on its own.

Here look very closely at both the heroin and morphine molecules:

Heroin:

The only difference is the red sections on the heroin molecule (those are the 2 acetyl groups, which break off and sort of "propel' morphine quicker to the brain then morphine would on its own. So because of the quicker action - there isn't any pins and needles doing "heroin".

The hallucinations and anxiety attack is probably an allergic reaction, so heroin would probably do the same because it converts to morphine and morphine is what gets you high.

It all sounds very odd. What source was the morphine from, a pill like a Kadian, Morphine Sulphate IR, MS Contin, Avinza, etc? Or did you buy it as a powder or something on the street?

Ive heard of people hallucinating getting IV Morphine in the hospital.

It certainly can......you are getting the purest of the pure when it comes to Morphine in a needle. Your body & brain wasnt use to it & sometimes it takes getting use too. Im not saying go out & try a couple more shots but try Morphine again but in pill form & see if you get the same effects.
