morphine question

I recently had my first experience with morphine, i took 45 mg ir tabs and had a strange reaction. My face and ears got extremely hot, my nose got stuffy, like serious head cold stuffy and i had extreme cottonmouth. Is this normal, and if so is there anything i can do to remedy these side effects?

Everyone reacts differently to Opiates and other drug, when I take morphine my face gets flushed and I get really nauseous, and for some reason I hiccup alot.

So yes its "normal" it just does not happen to everyone.

Do you have an opiate habit? If so, how bad is it? 45mg is pretty high if you're clean. How did you take it? Did you snort it? I just get really itchy on Morphine. Damn, I love that itch.

Not a bad opiate habit, i stumble across it every couple of weeks, mostly vic's or percs. I ate them, heard that's the best way enemas arent my thing. I heard that benadryl taken with morphine can ease some of the side effects, anyone know if that's true?

Yes. Benadryl is frequently taken with opiates both to reduce the itching and to potentiate them. Personally it doesn't seem to make them any stronger for me, but definately reduces the itching.

sounds like strong histamine release. take an anti histamine like benadryl
