Ok I take a regiment of 90mg of liquid methadone a day. I have chronic back pain and I got a hold of some 30mg morphine from a friend. I wanna know is it safe to take with the methadone. I know some drugs react badly with methadone such as benzos and tramadol, I just dont wanna get sent into withdrawls or die.

The whole point of methadone maintainince is to raise your tolerence to a point where other agonists won't be able to compete with it. 30mg of morphine would do nothing as your tolerence is high on another agonist. Remember though that when dealing with pure agonists you can take enough to shut down your breathing as there isn't a ceiling dose per se. Please be safe as you don't have much experience with mixing these from the sound of your post.

Well no I have not mixed anything with my methadone since I started taking it. However I just read on another site that doctors/ scientists tested a morphine and methadone cocktail and it showed that the combo actually lowered tolerance and dependancy. It said that morphine was a unique opioid that affected a diffrent receptor than most opiates. It also said the cocktail was a better pain reliever than either the two seperate. The morphine I have I was planning on taking it this afternoon when the methadone starts to wear down a little bit. I got it for pain relief not because I wanna get high. If I wanted to do that I would have taken it along with the methadone. I just like to be safe when taking things that arnt prescribed to me.
