I only take MS Contin for chronic pain and recently when drug tested, I tested positive for morphine and oxycodone. I haven't taken oxy in over three years, just curious if morphine metabolizes into oxycodone or if it was just a false positive? Thanks

No, morphine-3-glucuronide (M3G) and morphine-6-glucuronide (M6G) are the main metabolites of morphine AFAIK.. I'm not aware of anything that metabolises into oxycodone so I guess it must be a false positive? Any chance you had some by mistake/pill sold incorrectly?

Maybe someone else can shed some light on this..

ps threads about passing drugs tests are not allowed, but I think this kind of discussion is as long as it doesn'r stray into dodgy territory.. :) it's an interesting one anyway!

Sorry you tested positive for oxy dude <3 hope you have an understanding doctor..

Morphine is glucuronidated and/or N-demethylated and should not cause a false positive for oxycodone.

Effie is right - we don't allow questions about drug testing.

In no way was I attempting to learn how to pass a drug test, and I apologize if that was misinterpreted. I was just curious if that was normal. The doctor said nothing about it, so I figured it was normal....thanks for the info...

False positives are certainly possible.

I'm going to close this because even though you're not directly asking a drug testing question, its still pretty close and Bluelight has a strict policy against these sorts of things.
