Opioids Morphine intranasal vs oral

So i have read so many different things on intranasal vs oral ms either ones better than the other or studys show this ones better. Does anyone know which is the best? im completely new to any forums actualy. but i did post this in the right spot right? btw no iv and no plugging.%)

Opioid-related questions are generally appropriate for either the 'Other Drugs' forum or the 'Basic Drug Discussion' forum. This particular question has been covered quite a bit so I don't think we need another thread on it.

In general when you have a question, the best place to start is either the OD directory (link in my signature) or the search tab at the top of the page. The advanced search feature is your best bet as you can adjust the settings to maximize the accuracy of your results.

The best answer (in my view) to your question is looking at bioavailability numbers. From our BA mega thread...

Morphine ~30% oral/rectal, insufflated- 15-20%, Chitosan(a linear polysaccharide that helps absorb drugs better) has been shown to increase nasal bioavailability of morphine from around 10-20% to over 60%, SC-60%, protein binding 30-40%, half-life is 2-3 hours

If you aren't familiar with BA's, its the percent of the drug utilized by various routes of administration (usually oral, intransal, sublingual, intrarectal, subcutaneous, intramuscular or intravenous but there are others as well). IV is always 100% and the BA mega thread listed above is a good source for most other values for other routes.
