I've read on here and other sites that morphine is broken down at 80°C.
I've also read that Heroin and other ester's of morphine are made by boiling the morphine with what ever acid anhydride is used at 130°C.
If this is true why is it the morphine is not destroyed when it is boiled or is some of it broken down/lost during this process?
