Morphine 100 mg - sublingual?

Since morphine isn't very bioavailable orally and doing IV with all the binders is not a good idea, what about sublingually taking crushed powdered morphine sulphate?

The binders can be dealt with. Plenty of advice on the web. MS is water soluble, most of the binders are not. The ms-contins are a pain in the ass to prep, but it can be done.

I've never tried them sublingually. IV works for me.

I'm not a big fan of morphine, though. I hate the pins and needles. If you're going to stick with pills (as opposed to H), dilaudid and oxy are much, much better than morphine (and for come reason the oxycontins are much easier to prep than the ms-contins. Plastic instead of starch, or something). If you have the luxury of choosing.

I'm under the impression that if you're gonna shoot pills, then you definitly DON'T want to IM them. But, when you think about it, Rectal would prolly be a bit better than snorting, b/c it just sits there and gets absorbed, where as with snorting, the nose is constantly trying to flush out all that foreign material. As far as IV goes, I don't think that much compares to that. Oral? No contest. I don't know about subliqual, but with such a large amount of crap to deal with, as well as a fairly large amount of active (most subl preps are a couple of mg, at most), so you may not get as much mileage out of it as you would like. I would say go with rectal or nostril. But that's just me.
 
In general rectal administration is superior to taking the drug orally or snorting it (I'm saying that this applies to most drugs). As far as sublingually, it's probably about the same most of the time.
 
Morphine is the best when IV/IM you get the most out of it and it is much more euphoric. If you have MS-ir then sublingual would work just a bit better than just poping them but if you have MS-contin then make sure you crush it up as fine as you possibly can because it its very difficult too deactivate the time relase morphine.
 
My mom is on her 3rd back surgery and she was on oxy for 3 years and they switched her to kadien i think it is (morphine more or less) and she takes these and she pass out
But i have taken 2/ 50mg and crushed them and bumped them and i could not feel my body for at least 2 hours then i passed out and slept for 19 hours. so i have not fucked with it since so i would not suggest doing that much but the no feeling thing was pretty sweet.

What is "kadien"?? I did an extensive search and could not find anything about that drug.

Anyone??
 
Ok so I've crushed 100mg MS to powder.. crushed it as finely as possible. Then dropped the powder under my tongue and held it for few minutes. The effects? Definitely there was no euphoria, actually the only thing I've noticed was my notorious, I guess you could call it that, "nodding" from 3rd hour till about 7th. Nice feeling, but nothing spectacular. Is this all I can expect from 100 mg morphine sulphate? Should I use 200 mg? I just want to stress that I won't be IV it, because of all the binders from the tab.
 
It is spelled Kadian. I still never found much info searching for it though (here and elsewhere). It is these little white balls in a capsule... morphine that is like 12+hr relief. I think there are 50mg and 100mg.
 
I've done again 100mg morphine sublingually - and this time there is definite euphoria. The high is much better. Also my whole body is warm, and my thinking is far away from problems. Nice : -)
