Morning wood won't let me sleep

I wake several hours early every morning with a raging boner. I can't get back to sleep without jerking off or holding my breath until it goes away. Oftentimes neither works and I can't get back to sleep, and just end up having a short night's sleep.

I'm 20 and on suboxone. Does anybody else have this problem? Any advice for dealing with it?
 
Damn, I'd let my girlfriend sleep over every night if I were you. Perhaps muscle relaxants might help you out? I don't know if it's responsible to use them with opiates though.
 
Yeah, since I quit suboxone I've had the return of the good old teenage anomaly, which was missing in action, action that I wasn't getting.

I don't have your problem but... do what ya gotta do! Talk to your doctor first.
 
I don't think this is a typical suboxone reaction. I thought about SLR and Basic Drug Discussion for this thread but I'm thinking Healthy Living might be the place to look for an answer on this. Perhaps some sort of vigorous sexual activity before bed would let you get a full nights sleep.

I wake up like that sometimes and I'm usually in a funky state of mind, very 'body wanting something' esque. Usually I just get up or sit up and kind of wake up a little bit enough to let my mind start wandering into a new place, and the body relaxes and the boner dies. Try that out, just get up and get distracted for a few minutes till everything calms down, and then go back to sleep.

Jerking off when it happens will just program it to keep happening.
 
I get morning wood when I have to piss (it is your body's natural way of keeping you from pissing yourself while asleep)-- are you drinking a lot before bed?
 
^This is a good point. Although, I didn't know morning wood was to prevent yourself from pissing yourself.

My advice: jerk off/have sex before you go to bed, if you still wake up in the middle of the night with wood, jerk off again...its not like its a bad thing.

I've recently increased my fluid intake as part of an attempt to gain weight. I'm drinking a protein shake every night before bed. I often have to use the bathroom too so this could be right. In that case, what should I do?

I've found that although opiates make it difficult to ejaculate they seem to give me an erection. At least with low-moderate doses, and I'm on just under 1mg of sub.

I jerk it and it just comes back up. I did it twice this morning and still couldn't get back to sleep. What the fuck?

not much you can do, other than cutting out the protein shake-- perhaps switch to a protein bar vs the liquid form?

Just as an aside: I know that Buddhist monks sometimes drink tea before bed if they have to wake up super early, as the morning wood/desire to piss wakes you up earlier...
 
this is why morning sex was invented. it's your manhood telling you to fuck. masturbation will not work here because your natural manliness knows.
