-Set and Setting: I am only experienced in two different drugs, and both are a far cry from morning glory, or lysergic acid for that matter. I have smoked a fair amount of dank before, though I am certainly no pothead. It is definitely a weekend activity, taking place no more than 4 or 5 times a month. The other drug was nitrous, which was a separate experience in itself, and a separate trip report also...
Friend D’s house, with my non tripping friend M. D is experienced in hallucinogens more than I, so he is the mentor for this experience, though this is his first time on MG. (his previous experience in hallucinogens being only in shrooms).
D and myself brew some tea with the morning glory seeds and swig the concoction down, waiting in anticipation while watching the Underworld DVD Everything Everything. Meanwhile, M is enjoying a three foot tall bong and takes a particularly robust hit, causing him to run to the bathroom after letting out an equally robust hack. Fortunately for him, he doesn't regurgitate the potstickers we ate prior to this drug-induced gathering. M decides that he is sufficiently stoned after 4 or 5 bong rips and sits against D's futon, gazing off into the distance with a blank look on his face.
As for D and I, we are beginning to feel a tingly sensation, as if in anticipation for something big. A grand, psychedelic tidal wave, crashing on our unprepared membranes.
But unfortunately, these Morning Glory seeds seemed to take forever to kick in, or so we thought. After an hour and a half of waiting, D and I packed a bowl and toked away, hoping our night wasn't ruined because the seeds were defunct.
But after that first hit... things began to change.
This wasn't a normal stone I was feeling. Things around me were shifting. D's bed sheet was forming different shapes, and when I looked up to see D's pupils the size of quarters, I knew this was only the beginning.
"You guys tripping yet?" M asked...
At this point Shpongled started into the first track. I guess M put the cd “Tales of the Inexpressible” in, thinking it would be fun to trip to, and after this trip I have to agree with him.
Sounds of a swamp echoed from the speakers, and as I looked at M I could see tribal war paint on his cheeks. He was slowly shifting into an amazonian indian. D's futon wasn't a mere futon any more, it was our wooden raft, floating down the amazon. it was at this moment that I heard a distinct sound in the background, which must have been the music. At the time though, this roaring sound I heard didn't register as that.
D heard this sound also. He quickly jumped up on the futon.
"Oh fuck, oh shit, oh fuck oh fuck shit man oh my god, there is a fucking alligator chasing us!"
"Holy Jesus man, why didn't you fucking tell me? Get out your elephant rifle! there is no way this tribal will save us."
At this point M started cracking up.
Things started shifting back into reality, though I was still very much tripping. Hieroglyphics were forming on the ceiling and I started to get the distinct feeling that I was no longer in the Amazon. This writing that I saw was placed on the walls of some crypt under a great pyramid, and I was trapped with two unfortunate others.
Reality ebbed in and out. I would have some ludicrous idea, like we were on a boat when in reality it was only a futon, and I would treat this as reality for a good 5 or 6 minutes before snapping back, mumbling to myself “It’s just a drug. It is just a drug.”
The trip resembled visuals that one would see after having a large dose of some sativa. Faces would form out of the walls, and although it seems a bit scary, these faces were clearly drug induced, which I could discern even at the time.
Objects breathed and floors shifted. I would close my eyes and feel myself moving, as if on a boat ride of some kind.
And when I concentrated hard enough, staring off into space, I would see these small particles of color changing dust flying towards me. It was like lying down in a grassy plain, looking up at the rain, except this rain you could not feel and was green one moment, then violet another.
But, alas, towards the end of the trip (perhaps 4 hours or so, though I completely lost track of time) I felt the nausea. I approached the toilet and gave a few dry heaves, but felt better after a half hour of nausea.
The trip was certainly an interesting introduction to the world of hallucinogens. I plan on doing shrooms next, as I think I would dig the spiritual aspect a bit more than the “Hmm, I just saw a giant alligator swimming towards my tribal posse” sort of high.
It was a pleasant time, and I think I learned to respect these sorts of drugs a bit more. The experience is overwhelming, and it takes time for the mind to learn how to cope with the feeling of being overwhelmed and still being able to enjoy it.
Thank you for reading this, if anyone actually did. I realize this is very long, I tend to ramble when I am tired.
Peace, and stay safe.

ah and also, if you wanted to get an idea for the kind of visual I mean by "color changing dust particles", I would suggest turning on the "Flying through space" screensaver, which comes with windows. It was similar to this, though it would change speeds randomly and colors shifted in a transient manner.

Excellent Report! I'm impressed.

I have to say, as much as I hate it (sometimes), Marijuana is often my "Activator" for some psychadelic materials. To really get the visuals from a chemical going, I often have to smoke a small amount of da chronic'.
I enjoyed reading your report, thanks for sharing and welcome to bluelight :)

Thank you nick, and yes I can relate about ganja unlocking those visuals. Although I don't really care for the stuff myself, it really does kick things into gear.

Ah, my post survived! Thought it died off, but I am glad you enjoyed it.
Well, my friend purchased them. Fairly sure it was from the local hardware store, heavenly blues.

Interesting. By any chance could you tell how you made the tea? All of my attempts at extraction or preperation have always failed, which is why i could never get this stuff to work for me.

nice report! sounds like you had a good time without it becoming too overwhelming. Id like to try seeds some day... im just afraid of the nausea!

What a wondferful way to dive into the waters of psycadelia. Put on your tripper hat and strap down your tenticals.
:)

Morning glory was the first psychedelic I ever took as well (hence the name) and they absolutley blew me away. Thankfully I was in a good and protected enviornment and everything turned out very positive.

likewise for I.....15 grams of crushed heavenly blue's in a cup with some crushed bananas....wasnt sure what to expect, but by the end of the night, my ego was a ball i played with at whim...

Sorry for not responding sooner.
Hmm, well we took the seeds and crushed them up with a rolling-pin (we didn't want to use the coffee grinder since it was late at night and it is one fuggin noisy little machine). Then, we boiled some water and let the seeds steep in the tea for 15 minutes.
After drinking the tea (which didn't taste terrible, but certainly nothing tasty) we ate the remnants of the seeds at the bottom of the cup. This wasn't too fun, but we were determined.
The nausea sucks man, but again, you have to weight out how motivated you are for the experience. Expect to throw up if the seeds are treated (unless you smoke some pot, which seemed to help keep the mg seeds in my stomach). Just a disclaimer; I did not actually see an alligator as my post might suggest, but I did know it was there and I was behaving as if it was there and I had seen it. There were definite visuals, but I didn't want to give the impression that I was seeing creatures that weren't there, since that isn't what morning glory seeds are about (though it was really amusing to hear the alligator sloshing around one moment then realize it was all in my head :D )

Trust me, they're not to be slept on. I can relate to this from my 2nd MG experience 11 grams .. Best solo night of my life.

cool trip. Oddly enough I read somewhere that the tribal shamans in the amazon draw a raft on the ground when they go into altered states. Its used as a type of vessel to take them into the other world, and the guy who takes the back seat is the one who leads the "trip", kind of like steers the group along.

That is a really interesting experience. I'm quite experienced with LSD, Mushrooms, and Salvia. I've tried Peyote once and Morning Glory twice. ..All of which were equally incredible experiences. Morning Glory has always amazed me. My two trips were very spiritual and awesome. I am actually planning on trying them for the third time this weekend.
