Morning Dear

You left in afterglow, but all the same, great piece of work. I'm honored to have read it before it was posted. :)

Same here. And it left me stunned upon first reading...and it still does! <3

Please accept this as a compliment . . . but your poem has a similiar lyrical quality to a song I happen to be quite fond of.
Listen as she speaks to you
Hear the voices flutter through
Watch them fall and let them lie

I can hear you when you sigh
Through the water in the sky

That was an exceptional Poem Spinkle.

:D

and my hand soft on the side of my face
traced to the elbow holding my head's weight
so i can lean to taste your lips--
once, twice--your eyelids twitch,
the million muscles of your mouth
make the smile start slow, and
as it overflows your eyes
open on me, and now

we are
awake.

That's what I miss about being with someone - those morning moments. You've described this so perfectly.

Simply awesome.

*applause*

I fourth/fifth/sixth/whatever the best of bluelight nomination. :)

This poem gets better the more i read it. Hope you don't mind, spinkle, but i re-posted it in SLR because a) it really does inspire me; and b) more people should read it.

Done! Because I completely agree! =D

I can come back and read this time and again, and it never gets tired: the mark of a great piece of work.

Inspired work spinkle... post some more dammit!!

Wow, amazing stuff! I think it's a testament to this poem's power that it reminds me of how much I love waking up with my (soon-to-be) wife, so much so that I am going to send her a link. ;)

And I totally agree with what was said above about line breaks. ;)

Thanks for the bump Yarni. :)

So very inspiring... so very beautiful... thank you!

I also felt it deeply connected to my love of waking up next to my (soon-to-be) husband; and that was before reading his comment :)
