Hi All,
Today I'm on 100 MG liquid methadose, sorry to say that I'm really tolerant to the effect that methadone gives me.

by the way tomorrow they're putting me on 120mg, so that will be better...


does methadone have a ceiling effect?

I don't have an answer for your question, unfortunately.
But I'm also on methadone. And I just wanted to advise you to not keep increasing your dose. It's REALLY hard to get off methadone once you get to a really high dose. And it takes years. After the initial high you get when you first start taking it you won't be able to get high on it. That's just the sad reality. Many people at my clinic get high at first on their medication so they keep increasing their dose trying to get high again. But what happens is they end up on a really high dose with the same effects as the lower dose they were taking.

As far as I know methadone has no ceiling, at least under 300mgs. But you want to take a serious minute to think before cranking up your dosage. Everyone who has been addicted to heroin and methadone (or any opiate for that matter) will tell you that methadone is the worst opiate in terms of raising tolerance and withdrawals, both in terms of duration and intensity.

IV tar heroin, hydromorphone, oxymorphone, any ROA of fentanyl, these may come close in intensity. And suboxone may come close in duration, but none are the perfect storm of methadone

You will regret it horribly if you keep upping your dose
