I've always been brought up to write mum but I see a lot of peeps in the UK are now using mom inna American style.

Interested to see what you guys write?

i don't have one. but I am one. i did have a mommy. I am a mom. I'm afraid the infestation of the word "mom" is a little closer to home. It 's what we brummies say. we say mom. "mum" is far too bbc posh for us up here. so don't thank the yanks, thank benny. (there was more to crossroads and central weekend than you thought: subliminal programming to talk loike us)

I must admit I question this supposed use of "mom" in Brum. I've known loadsa Brummies over the years and not one of 'em says "mom" no matter how thick the accent. Is more like "moom" than "mom" to my ear.

Moom is more Bromsgrove/Redditch than Birmingham Shambles.

Birmingham is Mwum. It's all about the pitch change.
