Molly + Alcohol Recovery Help

Hey all, this is my first post on here and I'm looking for some good advice. I was on vacation and on the 3rd day of heavy drinking, hardly any sleep, and not much food, the people I was with decided to get molly from a somewhat reliable source. This was my first time taking molly or MDMA in general and I was intoxicated (on alcohol) before taking the Molly. I was told I took maybe 2 lines and I continued to drink. I don't remember any euphoria, or remember much in general, but do somewhat remember leaving the bar and venturing home to take a shower and fall asleep.

I was unable to sleep on the 10hr drive back and vomited about 5hrs through the drive. They were unable to eat anything but did manage to drink water. When I arrived home I felt pretty normal until trying to sleep which was impossible. I couldn't sleep the next night either and was met with confusion, shivers, hot/cold flashes and sweating, a very slight chest sensation, trouble exhaling all the way, and strangely I felt like every time he was about to fall asleep he was forgetting to breath or breathing very

I went to the hospital where they put me on fluids and told him to get some sleep. After eating some meals I tried to sleep again but was highly unsuccessful. I had read many online posts about whether I should take a variety of things like a benzo (I have Ativan), smoke marijuana, take Benadryl, or simply shower, listen to music etc... I decided to just continue to attempt to sleep with light music on but I experienced heavy anxiety and when trying to sleep, as well as the same hot/cold/sweat/shiver cycle and breathing problems as mentioned earlier. (Most anxiety only comes when trying to sleep)

I returned to the hospital after feeling really disoriented and they gave me oxygen and ran tests which were all normal. I tried to talk to them about Serotonin Syndrome and such but they said there was no chance that was the problem and simply told me to take Benadryl or Melatonin and get some rest. I decided to take Benadryl and got my first sleep in 2-3 days a few hours later. I felt pretty good when waking up but did have some anxiety later on. Taking Benadryl again later that night, I fell asleep for maybe an hour then woke again with slight confusion/disorientation and slight temperature discomfort. Thus, I decided they wanted me to write this post asking for advice.

I thinks they would like to take a Benzo as they've read a lot of good (as well as some bad when it comes to the cessation of taking the Benzo). Im also debating taking Melatonin (3mg which I know is low but could get higher mg if needed). I also have good cannabis but think that may raise my anxiety (but could also help with his low appetite and sleep).

I'm looking for any good advice from people with similar experience or good input. I'm new to all this and have read endless posts without finding anything too similar to go off of. Thanks for anything you guys can tell me.
 
Well theres a chance you didnt really snort mdma, it could have been some dodgy research chemical, and that's the reason you are having difficulty sleeping.

Another possibility is that the combination of both alcohol and snorting the mdma has left you with disrupted receptors temporarily in a way that you arent able to 'switch off' properly as you mention keep waking up.

This is why it is important to ensure what you are taking is mdma. I have seen some really horrible substance ID's that include many different chems, including Methamphetamine, and the usual piperazine suspects.


One night i took a random pill, didnt test it (this was before i used bluelight) and i had a sore throat and nightmares and couldnt sleep all week. So it really does show that there is some nasty stuff out there.

As for the sleeping, i would recommend no more than 3mg melatonin and maybe try some Valerian root too.
Benzos are good for sleeping but they are highly addictive and i would not recommend them to anyone. If you still have trouble sleeping and are considering using Benzos, i would suggest maybe you look for a nice Indica strain of cannabis and have a smoke that should help you sleep.
 
Sir, you hit the nail on the pin in regards to the falling asleep. It's like I'm trying to take off without wings and I'm just stuck awake even though I'm at takeoff speed and can feel myself about to fall asleep. It was actually really interesting at times because I was almost dreaming awake and totally coherent. I would have vivid images, some that I could actually read (mostly of texts that looked like an iPhone screen, probably because I was reading a lot of threads before bed) and ideas coming from all over the place, but I would definitely prefer a good dream & solid night of sleep.

I'm thinking that many of the other side effects might've been largely due to not sleeping for 2 1/2 days and just coming out of a binge drinking streak with little food/sleep. Who knows what exactly I did take though. It was from a friend of a friend and he wasn't exactly a stand up guy. Especially should have been a red flag that we ran into him the next day and he said he hadn't slept for 3 days. Really I only took the substance because I was perpetually drunk and goin with the flow of the weekends activities.

Anyways, I like the Melatonin / Valerian Root idea simply because they're more natural remedies. I used to say "If it ain't Earth, it ain't worth" (despite the fact everything's essentially from the earth but you get my drift). That's what leads me away from Benzo's and Benadryl. Especially because Benadryl supposedly somewhat blocks your REM cycle from what I've read. As far as the cannabis I agree completely agree although I have a little Sativa left over from the trip and I thought if Id've smoked that I'd be watching the Cosmos all night instead of sleeping.

Thanks for your advice though. I might've overreacted with the double hospital trip, but there were definitely points where I had the "oh shit, am I about to die" thing goin on. Definitely shows me the importance of sleep.

I was also wondering, I have both Alpha Brain & New Mood, the former of which I like and took all the time before last weekend, but would either of these be helpful at all? I'm thinking they contain too much for my brain to handle right now, but conversely maybe its just what I need? I was thinking I should maybe give my system some time to heal by itself before pumping it with a nootropic.

I've taken Alpha Brain many times and it gives me kickass dreams. I'm not sure if it makes me "smarter" but thats hard to measure with anything really. As for New Mood I've hardly taken it but I remember it seemed to keep me up instead of going to sleep. Just throwing this out there though since I already have these available.
 
^ Ive no idea about those chems im sorry, You need to look after yourself a bit better, Endless binges with little sleep AND abusing drugs can lead to full blown drug induced Psychosis
 
Indeed my man, bad decision for sure. The drinking I could've handled but the substance really took its tole on me. Thanks for your help, definitely going to go with the melatonin tonight and might get some Valerian Root soon as well.
