Recently notice a new RC with an obviously made up name and a molecular weight of 275.35. This is consistent with MDPV (which they recently dropped), but is it consist with anything else? I suspect this is simply an attempt to avoid the sudden notoriety of PV, but I don't want to be caught by surprise. I won't mention the new name as it has no relation to the nature of the chemical (google yields cameras, lol) and i see no need to give them free advertising.

It's PV, an isomer (none of which are really worth considering), or an outright lie for a nonexistient/questionable product (most likely).

Thanks, that pretty much what I thought, but my understanding of chemistry is pretty limited. Of those options PV seems to me by far the most likely as this "new" chem replaced it in their catalog since yesterday (at the same price) and they have have so far been reliable, at least by the admittedly low standards of the industry. Still, I'l be starting sub-milligram on this.

Molecular weight of mdpv hcl is 311.80g/mol according to Yohannan and Bozenko Jr. in their published report for Microgram Journal Volume 7, March 2010. That suggests it's not pv hcl. However Wiki and a December 2010 DEA report says it's 275.35g/mol. If it's the vendor I'm thinking of, they have a toll-free phone# so it might be worth it to call and ask them about it. They list it under "salts"...hmm.

Cayman shows 275 for freebase form and 311 for hcl form. So it should be pv.

Yes, that is the vendor. I got my molecular weight for PV from wiki, lol, perhaps they did as well. The lower number is perhaps the freebase? I'm sure (claims to the contrary not withstanding) that they don't make it, but rather import from China. I could as well, but I neither need large quantities nor wish to deal with customs if I don't have to. Calling them is an excellent suggestion, don't know why I didn't think of it myself.

Edit - Methedrone (yes, with a "th") has a molecular weight of 275.35 g/mol. Also known as bk-PMMA or 4-Methoxymethcathinone. Research with care.
Interesting, yes further research would seem needed.

Edit-see you removed this, and it does not seem to match any info I could find for methedrone. False alarm?

^^That one seems less likely;)

So, can someone save me some time googling and tell me how much the hcl add to the weight of a molecule?

...36.46 g/mol?

also not really advanced, more like "vendor discussion", but i'll let od see what they think.
