nah, psyghost, i gotta stop this here -
its misinformation.
we are talking microscopic particles here. it only takes a very minute amount to cause a bacterial infection in your lungs.
why would you get a bacterial infection from a fungus?
and picking off the mold isnt that bad of an idea, and definitely not misinformation. just because there is visible mold does not mean that the fungus is in spore. it is fruiting, yes, but not necessarily releasing spore. if you remove the mold, then there will be residual mycelium in the cannabis, but not much. mold isnt like a basidomycete. it does not need a complex system of mycelia prior to fruiting.
so if the mold hasnt released spore, then you would only be inhaling bits of mycelia (though it will have been ignited).
its true that the mycelium could have toxic chemicals, but thats not even what is being discussed here. people are talking about infections, fungal infections, caused by the inhalation of spore. as if the spore, upon inhalation, germinates into your lung tissue causing some type of infection.
I wouldnt be to worried, the biggest mold you would have to worry about is aspergillus, but as long as you have a normal immune system, you shouldnt be effected..
In the end you have to know what the mold is that is on your bud. Not all molds even cause negative reactions with humans. But like i said in my previous post, I wouldnt go out of my way to smoke a bowl of mold. Don't forget that the mold that is growing on the bud...it didn't just spontaneously create itself out of nothing. It grew out of spore that was
already on the bud. Without a doubt we all smoke spore
all the time.
