Someone once told me
That modern poetry is dead,
And I somewhat agree.

Perhaps we should
Adapt, however reluctantly,
To these "modern times."

Perhaps we should do away
With the metaphor entirely
And just say to these people,

What they really want to hear;
Really get to the heart of the matter
And just say to them:

"I want to fuck this woman, and I want to drink this Coca-Cola".
