Moderators

Not worth a good god damn lately... at least not where I spend my time around here. :\

*remembers fondly the days of Bel modding CE&P*

Holy shit, I'm even reminiscing about the days when Matt was moderating! It's worse than I thought!

The CEP mods are among the most competent on this board, catloaf. Past mods of CEP are also highly competent; I can't think of anyone who has modded that forum that I didn't like or respect.

Publicly complaining about them really only makes you look bad. There are ways to have discussions on highly contentious or potentially polarizing subject matter without resorting to childish insults.

That said, you are free to contact them or even me (as I am one of their senior mods, though I act predominantly in my capacity of a participant). If you have suggestions on how the forum should be run, please contact the assigned staff members with constructive comments.

Here's a suggestion: Moderators should be respectful at all times, regardless of their opinions on the topic being discussed. Pretty simple. Guess what: the moderators are the ones throwing around childish insults lady. I am just responding. I won't be walked all over with a smile.

After all the shit I've said on this website, you really think I care about "looking bad?"

catloaf,
moderators are people just like you. we aim to be balanced and fair; but sadly cant please EVERY member by making decisions. its a thankless job, that volunteers offer to do for the sites best interest in their spare time.

if you have a major issue with the way things are being handled; report the posts that shit/offend you; or pm a staff member to discuss the matter further. were not assholes; nor unapproachable and if you feel that by discussing things with one staff member is getting you nowhere; discuss it with another; or senior staff/admins. the gap between staff and BL'ers is not as divided as you portray. were working for the same cause and result as members. <3

What Xeno said, and this to add: all Bluelighters, including staff, are works in progress. Yes, some personalities seem to not jive (this hasn't happened to me with more than a handful of posters in several years). I think your experience on Bluelight will be a better one if you work proactively to build rapport with others, be they members or staff. I assure you that no one is trying to "walk all over" you.

your attitude sucks dude.

several members of staff have tried offering you alternatives in dealing with the situation you claim is an issue. were willing to budge on our attitudes; but too hope for compromise in yours. harmony/peace is a two way street. we cant do it on our own.

when you decide to come to the party; youll be welcomed with open arms. while you continue to not accept accountability for your actions and play the blame game; youre situation will remain as is.

take care catloaf. <3

I didn't instigate the argument. I said what needed to be said, and the issue was resolved that way. I got a warning, while the moderators get away with making fun of people's honest opinions. My situation is fine. Do you see me asking for resolution? I accept their hypocrisy, no big deal. I think perhaps that if you haven't before you should try reading the thread. How would you react if you were being respectful and suddenly a moderator came by and interjected a disrespectful comment without even addressing your questions or points? I bet you'd be pissed.

I never said there was an issue here. I called out the people acting like shitheads, and that's the end of it.

And guess what, I don't want to be welcomed or have a dialogue with people who insult other people's intelligence or sanity right off the bat without even rationally addressing what's being claimed. Those aren't my kind of people. Thanks for your advice though. I don't need "alternative solutions." Didn't ask for them. I'll take my warnings and my dignity. My attitude is great when I'm treated respectfully. I'm not a jesus loving turn the cheek kind of person.
