Hi, I have my first photo shoot next week for modeling and I'm a bit nervous about it.

Would it be fine to take estazolam(2mg) or would 10mg ambien + 2 mg hyrdromorphone combat my anxiety better?

Thanks

First time dosing questions are best directed to Basic Drug Discussion and I will move this for you now.

Issues regarding long term can be found discussed in detail within the Other Drugs forum. Furthermore self image and emotional problems are best handled by TDS (The Dark Side).

homeless >>> BDD.

I believe that in order to further help you we are going to need a few sample shots of what you look like... that is if your female if not then disregard we cannot help lol

I'd suggest a very low dose just to take the edge off otherwise you won't be very responsive to the cameraman.

is this your first time taking benzos or opiates? if so, then you shouldn't take them before your shoot. people will notice your intoxication, and you could possibly be fired or let go.

doing drugs before work isn't a good idea. i suggest a beta-blocker or a norepinephrine inhibitor such as clonidine which relieve anxiety without causing intoxicating effects by affecting the SNS instead of CNS

ambien is not really anxiolytic, it's mostly just hypnotic and hydromorphone risks affecting how you look and with a photoshoot, small variants in pupil size or skin pallor may be more consequential.

Your best bet is to go to a doctor, explain the problem and get something like a beta blocker which will stop the physiological manifestations of anxiety and with that, it's easier to give yourself the requisite confidence. This has worked wonders for me quickly with public speaking and now I would have no problem speaking in front of a few hundred or a few thousand people with confidence and minor jitters.

If I were in your shoes, I would take a low dose of a benzo and a moderate dose of D-Amp to offset the sedating effects. (Have problems staying awake on benzos). As someone who has done modeling before, it's going to help you to be in full concentration and communication with your camera-man. Getting 'fucked up' before a shoot would be a very VERY bad idea.

I have taken benzo's before (clonz's and loraz's) as well as many opiates. Took a little less than 2 mg prosom which did help with anxiety but also made me partially sedated... I think it was a bad idea because I looked extra tired but I had do take something because I don't feel right in that environment.

Good thing it was free though...guess modeling isn't for me...

A bit of Diaz does wonder for my anxiety...I like it a bit too much though so using it as ameans of getting through work that may become reguklar may not be a good idea.

Some work on breathing exercises and muscle relaxation may be a much better option I find th muscle relaxation one here:-

precedeeded with some breathing excercises really useful

I'd advise against the Ambien from a harm reduction standpoint.

If I were a doctor, I'd put you on clonazepam 1mg. BID

Beta blockers are going to help A LOT MORE with performance anxiety. (The anxiety you have)

Ambien would do jack squat at the dose you mentioned but make you groggy and weirdly animated at the same time. (Not a good thing.)

Hydromorphone will have you sailing along like a junkie nodding out in the middle of the shoot...

Your best bet is to break the estazolam in half. You don't want to take too much or else it will be a dead giveaway of your drugged up appearance when you show up at the shoot.

Modeling is a tough business........the camera either loves you, or it doesnt. As far as having anxiety, I have a cousin that models & she said she took xanax once during a shoot which made her relaxed & able to feel comfortable with her surroundings which made the shoot easy for her to get through but everyone is different & they handle the drugs in different ways.

thanks for the replies, unfortunately I took a bit more than half of Prosom that day and was already tired ahead of time equaled most likely a terrible look for me. Hadn't eaten much either so I was nearly a wreck as I was doing my shoot even though I was confident for the most part...Not sure it was noticeable that I was high but might of been a bad look for my first shoot :/

I know that a high dose of opiates will make me nod(gulped down pod slurries till I was nodding my ass off), but my tolerance is quite high( have taken a max of 180mg morphine) so I wouldn't take as much so I would be nodding and find smaller doses quite effective for anxiety.

Also would my doc prescribe me Beta blockers if I have had a past history of drinking and doing some drugs here and there? Are they more effective then benzos for anxiety relief?

^I would imagine your doctor wouldn't have a problem prescribing a beta blocker. Since they aren't narcotics/habit forming I would think they would be happier to prescribe those, in lieu of benzodiazepines. Something like propranolol will help greatly with reducing stage fright anxiety and lowering your blood pressure.
